Ghost of Yotei<\/a> is launching on PS5 later this year, but as is customary from Sony, the platform holder is keeping the game under lock and key until closer to launch.<\/p>\n

However, as spotted by members of the ResetEra<\/a> forum, some new information has been uploaded to the game\u2019s official PlayStation.com<\/a> page. There\u2019s not a whole lot to feast on here, but it should help raise your anticipation for the release.<\/p>\n

The blurb starts: \u201c300 years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima<\/a>, a new warrior \u2013 Atsu \u2013 rises from the ashes of her homestead.<\/p>\n

\u201cFilled with fury and determination, Atsu will hunt down those responsible for the death of her family and exact her revenge.<\/p>\n

\u201cEvery odd job and bounty will provide the coin she needs for her journey. But how she fights, survives, and evolves the legend of the Ghost, will be up to you.\u201d<\/p>\n

So, it sounds like you\u2019ll have a lot more authorship over what type of playstyle you adopt this time, and that\u2019ll be augmented by a new arsenal of weapons.<\/p>\n

\u201cGhost of Yotei features new mechanics, gameplay improvements, and even new weapons for Atsu to master, including \u014ddachi, kusarigama, and dual katanas,\u201d the summary states.<\/p>\n

There\u2019s also a little overview of the sandbox itself.<\/p>\n

\u201cGhost of Yotei takes place in the lands surrounding Mount Y\u014dtei, a towering peak at the edge of Japan’s snowy northern region,\u201d the page explains. \u201cIn 1603, this area was outside the rule of Japan \u2013 a wild frontier filled with sprawling grasslands, icy tundras, and unexpected dangers.\u201d<\/p>\n

And as you\u2019d expect with first-party studio Sucker Punch at the helm, this is going to be a visual tour-de-force on both PS5 and PS5 Pro.<\/p>\n

\u201cFeaturing massive sightlines that let you look far across the environment, skies of twinkling stars and auroras, and vegetation that sways believably in the wind, Ghost of Yotei has been built from the ground up for PS5 consoles, with enhanced performance and visuals on PS5 Pro,\u201d the overview concludes.<\/p>\n

Ultimately, there\u2019s not an enormous amount of information to dig into here \u2013 a lot of this we already knew. But with a title this anticipated, it\u2019s always nice to get some additional intel, especially while we wait patiently for the next big announcement or trailer.<\/p>\n
