Leeds players have proved they\u2019re as good at writing songs as they are at winning in the Championship, but one chant may have overstepped the mark.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Their captain on the pitch, Ethan Ampadu<\/a>, has been the main cheerleader of it, but had some explaining to do after a title clinching song.<\/p>\n

The Whites won the Championship on the final day, racking up an extraordinary 100 points.<\/p>\n

Promotion was sealed earlier, with two games to play, but securing the title ahead of Burnley<\/a> was one hell of an achievement given the Clarets also reached the same points total for the best ever finish by a second-placed team<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Burnley celebrated their feat in their own unique way, with Natasha Bedingfield, the English-New Zealand singer whose \u2018Unwritten\u2019 song had become their unofficial anthem.<\/p>\n

Yet when Ampadu was seen singing the same song with teammate Patrick Bamford<\/a>, there were many claims some mickey taking was afoot.<\/p>\n

However, so keen was the Wales international to ensure that respect was maintained, he corrected a post accusing him of \u2018s***housery\u2019 online.<\/p>\n

Replying to a post of the video, he said: \u201cOkay I know I have a sore head right now. Me and Pat actually sang this song together in pre-season.\u201d<\/p>\n

The images came after Leeds’ epic bus parade on Bank Holiday Monday, with 150,000 turning up to witness the scenes through the city centre.<\/p>\n

Ampadu led plenty of chants, one unsavoury about Wilfried Gnonto, but he also left another open to interpretation.<\/p>\n

Shouting \u2018Betis\u2019 while next to teammate Junior Firpo, the calls fuelled speculation that the soon to be out-of-contract left-back could be heading back to his former LaLiga side.<\/p>\n

Yet it appears it was in response to a fan wearing a Real Betis<\/a> kit, with Firpo seemingly clearing things up later on Jayden Bogle\u2019s Instagram live stream.<\/p>\n

\u201cParaag, send me the ting man,\u201d he said, referring to chairman Paraag Marathe.<\/p>\n

Ampadu later requested the bus driver do another lap of the city but instead they had to head back to Elland Road where he summed up his feelings.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not going to lie\u2026 that parade. Best day of my life,\u201d he wrote, laying on the turf.<\/p>\n

Chairman Marathe gave a similar verdict, saying: “I don’t think anyone realised, this wasn’t f****** easy. This was really hard to do.<\/p>\n

“Two years of getting to this point, but all that hard work and all that difficulty, makes right now that much more rewarding and makes today so special.<\/p>\n

“I hope I never forget this moment. I want to live in this moment as much as I can.<\/p>\n
