Prince Harry<\/a> and Meghan Markle<\/a>\u2019s royal days \u201care numbered\u201d following their latest stint in Jordan, a royal expert has claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex went on a two-day \u201cpseudo-royal tour\u201d in Jordan<\/a> to spread awareness about the humanitarian efforts of the Jordanian authorities and a range of agencies supporting the health and wellbeing of Syrians and Palestinians who have sought sanctuary in Jordan over the decade.<\/p>\n

But a royal commentator blasted the couple for \u201cDIY royalling\u201d and using their titles, while the rest of the Firm were dealing with Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor\u2019s scandal back in Britain. Harry and Meghan left the Royal Family in 2020 but they still retain their royal titles, but don\u2019t use them commercially. Daniela Elser, who regularly comments on royal news, wrote on news.com.au<\/a>: \u201cThe issue with the Sussexes\u2019 spot of DIY royalling isn\u2019t what they did, but when they did it. they are indeed still a duke and duchess and off doing some DIY royalling, it is now. The images of Harry and Meghan in Jordan are a clear reminder of the need to draw clear lines between the crown and the people who just happen to be related to the King.\u201d<\/p>\n

She added: \u201cCrown Inc is unravelling in real time. Right now, there is extreme public sensitivity about members of the King\u2019s family doing anything that looks like trading off royal status conferred by the accident of birth rather than a devotion to duty. Change is coming for the Royal Family and it\u2019s a matter of when, not if; the centre cannot hold. The days of spares and nieces and nephews and cousins being able to grandly deploy their royal titles without doing anything so taxing and snoozy like public service or trudging off to do dreadfully dull away-days in Devon are numbered. Tick tock. Tick tock.\u201d<\/p>\n
