Twisted Sister<\/a> is hitting the road once again \u2014 with a familiar face.<\/p>\n One month after Dee Snider left due to health concerns<\/a>, the heavy metal band announced that rocker Sebastian Bach<\/a> will take his place for a series of tour dates this fall.<\/p>\n \u201cTwisted Sister members Jay Jay French and Eddie Ojeda are thrilled to announce that iconic vocalist and front man Sebastian Bach will be fronting the band for a handful of select dates this fall,\u201d a statement<\/a> shared to the Twisted Sister website on Tuesday, March 3 read. \u201cThese appearances do not affect or conflict with Sebastian\u2019s current or future solo touring schedule, which remains fully intact.\u201d<\/p>\n Bach, 57, shared his excitement for the gig shortly after the news broke with an Instagram photo that featured him in a record store holding both a Twister Sister vinyl and a Skid Row vinyl, the band that made him famous.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat a feeling! I am in shock! I am the Lead Singer of Twisted Sister\ud83e\udd18\u201d he wrote in his caption. \u201cI keep saying that over and over to myself and anybody else who will listen today \ud83e\udd29I am absolutely honored and overjoyed to pay tribute to the legacy of some of my favorite music and musicians of my whole life!\u201d<\/p>\n Bach said he\u2019d called Snider, 70, earlier in the day and the two had a 45-minute conversation before the news went wide.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were both kind of emotional on the phone,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI know I was a little bit teary-eyed because I have nothing but respect for Dee and I have always been a fan and a friend of Dee, [his wife Suzette<\/a>] and his wonderful family. We have agreed to do six shows this year together and I am really looking forward to this.\u201d<\/p>\n Bach also thanked longtime guitarist Ojeda and founding guitarist French, and recalled his high school days when he painted the Twister Sister logo on the back of a denim jacket.<\/p>\n Twisted Sister canceled a previously planned 50th anniversary tour on Feb. 5 citing Snider\u2019s resignation. The group previously toured in 2016 to mark their 40th anniversary.<\/p>\n Eddie Ojeda, Jay Jay French, Dee Snider and Mark Mendoza of Twister Sister performing in California in 2023. Snider said in a statement in February that he suffers from degenerative arthritis, and is only able to \u201cperform a few songs at a time in pain.\u201d He also said that his intense rocking over the years has \u201ctaken its toll on his heart as well.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t know of any other way to rock,\u201d Snider said. \u201cThe idea of slowing down is unacceptable to me. I\u2019d rather walk away than be a shadow of my former self.\u201d<\/p>\n In a recent interview<\/a> on the Beardo and Weirdo podcast, Snider gave Bach his stamp of approval, while revealing that he\u2019d previously asked the rocker to be his back-up stand-in on Twisted Sister\u2019s 2014 tour \u2014 a request Bach emphatically denied.<\/p>\n \u201cHe goes, \u2018No way. That\u2019s a thankless job. I\u2019m not standing in for you, never,\u2019\u201d Snider recalled Bach saying. \u201cI say god bless \u2018em.
