A Celebrity Big Brother<\/a> star has revealed he descended into an intense paranoid spiral after being a housemate.<\/p>\n

Steps singer Ian \u2018H\u2019 Watkins<\/a>, 48, finished in fourth place<\/a> in 2007 when the reality TV show aired on Channel <\/a>4.<\/p>\n

He appeared on the show alongside stars including the late Jade Goody <\/a>and Jo O\u2019Meara<\/a>. Shilpa Shetty<\/a> was declared the winner.<\/p>\n

A decade after he competed on Celebrity Big Brother, H has revealed his mental health was impacted as he feared he was being \u2018watched\u2019 through mirrors.<\/p>\n

He said: \u2018It does affect your mental\u00a0health because when you\u2019re in there, in the nighttime, people are watching you. And back then, you could watch people sleeping 24 hours.<\/p>\n

\u2018I\u00a0came out of there \u2013 and it was ridiculous because I know it wasn\u2019t sane \u2013 but I would think people were watching me through mirrors for weeks afterwards.\u2019<\/p>\n

H said there was \u2018no aftercare provided after the show\u2019 in an interview with The Sun.<\/a><\/p>\n

He continued: \u2018Whereas these days, I would imagine there are\u00a0doctors\u00a0and psychologists and a team to help afterwards.<\/p>\n

\u2018But we had none of that back then. You did it, and you were left to fend for yourself.\u2019<\/p>\n

Metro has contacted Channel 4 for comment.<\/p>\n

As he prepared to enter the Celebrity Big Brother house, H famously came out as gay publicly.<\/p>\n

H\u2019s season of Celebrity Big Brother was marred by controversy after Goody faced bullying and racism allegations alongside S Club 7 star O\u2019Meara and Danielle Lloyd. <\/p>\n

Goody had used offensive language when referring to Bollywood actress Shetty in the house, leading to her eviction. She left without an audience in attendance because of the complaints the show had received.<\/p>\n

Shetty forgave Goody, telling host Davina McCall after she was crowned winner: \u2018Things happen, people make mistakes and we all learn from them. But I can say one thing for sure. Jade didn\u2019t mean to be racist. She isn\u2019t a racist. I really don\u2019t want to leave England putting anyone in trouble.<\/p>\n

\u2018This country has given me so much. I just want to thank all of Great Britain for giving me this fantastic opportunity to make my country proud.\u2019<\/p>\n

Last year, Celebrity Big Brother returned to ITV following the success of the reboot of the original show, which was scrapped by Channel 5 in 2018.<\/p>\n

Celebrity Big Brother 2024 was won by \u00a0David Potts, with other housemates including the likes of Louis Walsh<\/a>,\u00a0Ekin-Su<\/a>\u00a0C\u00fclc\u00fclo\u011flu and Ferne Britton.<\/p>\n

This year, Coronation Street star Jack P Shepherd was announced champion after competing against fellow celebrities including JoJo Siwa and Chris Hughes.<\/p>\n
