<\/p>\nSHAFF, or Sheffield Adventure film festival, is returning for its 20th year with 105 submissions from all over the world.<\/p>\n
The films chosen hope to shed light on both global adventures but also local ones.<\/p>\n

Mathew Heason, founder of the festival, said: \u201cIt\u2019s become evident over the years that there is a very strong adventure filmmaking heritage and community within Sheffield.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s quite a lot of local stories in there as well. I\u2019ve had local adventures heading out to the Peak District and doing exciting things, but there\u2019s also quite a lot of focus on climate and environmental issues.\u201d<\/p>\n
The festival is taking place from 20 to 22 March, with films being shown throughout the month.<\/p>\n
The festival hopes to encourage all those who attend to get out and see the outdoors, no matter what age.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Mathew said: \u201cit\u2019s really inspiring to see people making films, it shows me that I can still go out and have adventures for many more years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s actually quite a few films this year showing parents who are now taking their kids on adventures and making films about them.\u201d<\/p>\n
As well as this, Mathew said that the festival works alongside Sheffield Hallam University by helping them to provide them with something that\u2019s a bit more realistic than a classroom environment.<\/p>\n
He said: \u201cThey\u2019re given a brief to make a poster for the films that they\u2019ve watched. Those posters are then printed and displayed at the festival. The film-makers get to see these amazing posters that these design students have created, it\u2019s a bit of real life coursework for them.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
