Time Out explains: “Part of what makes the Welsh bay so special is that it\u2019s well hidden. It\u2019s only reachable via a half-mile walk through woodland, along the Wales Coastal Path and down a steep set of steps.<\/p>\n
“From the top of those steps you get a magnificent view of Barafundle\u2019s golden, unspoiled curve of sand and its gleaming clear blue water. What\u2019s more, the beach faces east and is wrapped by cliffs on either side, meaning that it\u2019s largely protected from the wind, and the water stays pretty calm and safe for bathing (which is particularly ideal for younger families).”<\/p>\n
Visit Pembrokeshire adds: “A small bay backed by dunes and pine trees, accessible only by a half mile walk from the nearest car park. Swathes of golden sand and crystal clear waters, Barafundle has been voted many, many times as one of the best beaches in Britain and the world; it\u2019s often likened to a Caribbean beach!<\/p>\n
“This pristine beach is isolated which means no facilities; so everything you take has to come back up over the cliffs.”<\/p>\n

Barafundle Bay also comes highly recommended on TripAdvisor. It has around 1,200 reviews, including over 1,000 perfect five-star ratings.<\/p>\n
Pesue1 said: “This is one of the most beautiful beaches anywhere, no facilities at beach only at nearby stackpole. This place is only accessible via the coast path so difficult for less able people. Stunning views and lovely clean sand and dog friendly.”<\/p>\n
Caracobham added: “Such a beautiful beach. Feels lovely and secluded. The weather wasn\u2019t great but it was still beautiful. The walk there was also enjoyable.”<\/p>\n
Nicki H wrote: “Car park easy to find, cafe closed Thur and Fri but toilets open. Lovely walk and amazing beach. Very well looked after and dogs allowed all year round. We had a wonderful trip.”<\/p>\n
Lucie F put: “This has to be one of my favourite beaches ever, not just in Wales! It is only a short walk (15\/20 minutes) from the carpark to the beach (we parked in the National Trust carpark) and the views were incredible.”<\/p>\n
