In Chennai, Thamarai Selvi\u2019s business journey began during the uncertainty of the pandemic.<\/p>\n
Inspired by videos she watched online, she started selling decorative products such as clay lamps, ice-cream sticks and banana leaf items through online marketplaces.<\/p>\n

The business began with a modest investment of just Rs 8,000.<\/p>\n
Selvi and her husband sourced products from local shops and wholesalers, gradually building an inventory of hundreds of items. In the first month, their revenue was just Rs 1,500.<\/p>\n
But they followed strict financial discipline — reinvesting every rupee back into the business.<\/p>\n
They expanded their reach through platforms like Amazon and IndiaMart while promoting their brand through Instagram and Facebook.<\/p>\n
Growth did not come without setbacks.<\/p>\n
At one point, nearly 30 percent of orders were returned, often due to damaged items. The couple carefully studied return patterns and improved quality checks to reduce losses.<\/p>\n

BUILDING A MANUFACTURING BUSINESS FROM SCRATCH<\/p>\n
For Bharati from Tamil Nadu\u2019s Villupuram district, entrepreneurship once seemed like a distant dream.<\/p>\n
Coming from a financially struggling family, she worked hard to complete a degree in computer science.<\/p>\n

Her husband Sivakumar had spent years working in a manufacturing company, and together they dreamed of starting a business of their own.<\/p>\n
But financial constraints repeatedly forced them to postpone the idea.<\/p>\n
With guidance and training through entrepreneurship programmes, Bharati eventually secured a bank loan that allowed her to establish Sri Ganapathy Industries in 2023.<\/p>\n
The company manufactures metal components used in heavy vehicles and industrial equipment.<\/p>\n
Bharati manages finances carefully, tracking expenses and revenue in real time while using digital tools to streamline operations.<\/p>\n

In Wardha, Maharashtra, Dr Tanvi Pande took a different path to entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n
A physiotherapist by training, she spent years visiting patients\u2019 homes for therapy sessions.<\/p>\n

During this time, she noticed something important: many patients struggled to access high-quality orthopaedic rehabilitation products.<\/p>\n
There were few local manufacturers producing specialised aids.<\/p>\n
Seeing the gap, she decided to start her own manufacturing unit.<\/p>\n
The journey was not easy. Navigating bank paperwork and securing financial support proved difficult at first.<\/p>\n
But with mentoring and training support, she was eventually able to secure funding and launch Shri Sai Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Aids.<\/p>\n
Today, her unit manufactures products such as specialised footwear for medical conditions, splints and prosthetic aids.<\/p>\n
