Photo by David Munn<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Liverpool Celebrates festival is returning to the city for its second year across the August bank holiday weekend. The festival will run from Saturday, August 23 to Monday, August 25.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Following on from last year\u2019s debut festival, Liverpool Celebrates is back for three days of live music at an iconic waterfront setting, with the Three Graces and <a class=\"TextLink_text-link__dBSS0 TextLink_enabled__dJF3l\" href=\"https:\/\/www.liverpoolecho.co.uk\/all-about\/river-mersey\" target=\"\" aria-label=\"\" tabindex=\"0\" rel=\"noopener\">River Mersey<\/a> forming the backdrop. Across the weekend, the festival will feature family entertainment, including a special Bongo&#8217;s Bingo show.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The festival will open with a &#8216;Legends Day&#8217; on Saturday, August 23, with headliner Tony Hadley who fronted 80s New Romantic band Spandau Ballet.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Also featuring on the Saturday line-up will be Sister Sledge featuring Kathy Sledge, offering festivalgoers the chance to enjoy some of the biggest dance anthems of all time, including Lost in Music, He\u2019s The Greatest Dancer and Thinking of You.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">The Gipsy Kings by Diego Baliardo also feature on the festival line-up, as well as The Real Thing.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_Liverpool-Celebrates-by-David-Munn-3.jpg\" alt=\"Liverpool Celebrates festival in 2024. Photo by David Munn<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Bongo\u2019s Bingo will headline Pop At The Pier on Sunday, August 24 with a family-friendly show. Tribute acts across the day will include Planet ABBA, Taylor 2, Sweet Like Sabrina, Michelle Lawson\u2019s Whitney Houston tribute and Tanya Alboni as Amy Winehouse.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">On bank holiday Monday, which falls on August 25, the festival will honour The Matthew Street Festival, curated by The Cavern, with a day of performances from tributes including Run In The Shadows as Fleetwood Mac, Matt Byrne as Robbie Williams, Coldplace as Coldplay, as well as acts paying tribute to The Beatles, Billy Joel, Noel Gallagher and The Old Time Sailors.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/0_Liverpool-Celebrates-by-David-Munn-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"Liverpool Celebrates festival in 2024. Photo by David Munn<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Daniel Sanders from Liverpool Celebrates said: \u201cWe\u2019re immensely proud to announce we\u2019re coming back with a bang to the city for the second year of Liverpool Celebrates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;It\u2019s a fantastic line-up in a truly world-class location, and this year we\u2019re making the festival family friendly across the whole weekend.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;It\u2019s really important for myself and the team to showcase these headline artists and renown tributes to the city and also to give the next generation the chance to experience them with their families and friends and make amazing memories.<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">&#8220;It\u2019s going to be a massive celebration down at the Pier Head this Bank Holiday August and we can\u2019t wait to welcome everyone.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"Paragraph_paragraph-text__PVKlh \">Tickets for the event go on sale on Friday, May 9 at 9am.
