Leeds United<\/a> have several players out on loan at the moment with only a handful showing their peak form and potentially justifying a permanent exit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Daniel Farke<\/a> won\u2019t have much, if any, time to keep tabs on what\u2019s going on for each loan player away from Elland Road for the time being.<\/p>\n

Some, like Largie Ramazani at Valencia<\/a>, are thriving at their current clubs. However some, like Max Wober<\/a> at Werder Bremen, are having a torrid time.<\/p>\n

Wober\u2019s time on loan in the Bundesliga couldn\u2019t really be going much worse. The Austrian centre-back was cast out from the club to Werder Bremen in the summer window after promotion. It wasn\u2019t much of a surprise that he was jettisoned in the summer<\/a>. He didn\u2019t do much to repair his relationship with the fans like Brenden Aaronson has<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The issue, though, is that he\u2019s not been able to convince his loan club that he\u2019s worth a permanent deal. That\u2019s because he\u2019s faced ongoing injury nightmares<\/a>. Wober has only featured once all season as he\u2019s since revealed that he sought help from an injury specialist in London.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter the friendly match, I started having problems with my calf,\u201d Wober said on the 1x1Sport Fu\u00dfballtrainer podcast (via\u00a0Deich Stube<\/a>). \u201cAt first, they said it was a minor strain, but it took longer than expected. Then it turned into a muscle fibre tear, and finally a muscle fibre tear with tendon involvement. Many things didn\u2019t go optimally during my rehab.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m not far from being fit, but I still can\u2019t get back to running and playing football completely pain-free. I hope this appointment will help me and that I can be back on the pitch in two weeksHopefully, after the international break, I\u2019ll at least have five or six games where I can give my all for the club.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00a310million down the drain as Leeds United look unlikely to see anything back for Max Wober<\/p>\n

A return to the Bundesliga after his solid loan spell with Borussia Monchengladbach looked a good solution for everyone.<\/p>\n

We got him off the books and sent him to a club where he had a relatively strong chance of making a good impression and gaining a permanent move. Leeds agreed an undisclosed buy option in the centre-back\u2019s loan, which could be worth around \u00a33.4million<\/a>. But, that isn\u2019t going to be triggered.<\/p>\n

Werder Bremen won\u2019t be happy with his lack of involvement<\/a>. He\u2019s been injured throughout the entirety of the season since his debut in August.<\/p>\n

For Leeds, that \u00a310million<\/a> spent in January 2023 doesn\u2019t look like money well spent. I\u2019d expect that we\u2019re not going to see much of that back at all, if any.<\/p>\n

Wober is contracted until the summer of 2027, so enters the final 12 months of his deal this summer. As a result, his book value should sit just above the \u00a32million mark, and you can\u2019t even imagine someone paying that now on top of his Premier League wages.<\/p>\n
