Speculation is growing that <\/strong>Phil Mickelson<\/strong><\/a> may miss the first men’s major of the year.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Mickelson, 55, has not played in a LIV Golf<\/a> event this season due to a private family health matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The six-time major champion previously announced<\/a> he only anticipated missing the first two events of the season in Riyadh and Adelaide.\u00a0<\/p>\n

However, Mickelson missed their most recent stop in Hong Kong and the HyFlyers will be without their captain again this week in Singapore.\u00a0<\/p>\n

No official announcement from LIV was made regarding Mickelson’s latest absence.\u00a0<\/p>\n

But Australia’s Wade Ormsby was quietly listed as the fourth member of the HyFlyers and will play alongside new signing Michael La Sasso, Cameron Tringale and Brendan Steele.<\/p>\n

Ollie Schniederjans filled in for Mickelson as a reserve Riyadh whilst Ormsby teed up in Australia.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Now, the question on everyone’s lips is whether Mickelson will play in the first men’s major of the year.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The 2026 Masters<\/a> begins on 9 April.\u00a0<\/p>\n

If Mickelson does decide to play, it would mean that he would have had a limited number of reps under his belt.\u00a0<\/p>\n

LIV’s 2025 season concluded in August and Mickelson has not played since.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mickelson will also be acutely aware that he will be falling behind in LIV’s individual standings<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He was previously exempt from relegation owing to the fact he is a team captain but LIV started enforcing the drop last season.\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was a move that helped LIV secure Official World Golf Ranking points before the 2026 season began.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Last season, Mickelson made 12 starts with three top 10 finishes.\u00a0<\/p>\n

In the majors, he missed three of four cuts, with his best finish a T56 at The Open held at Royal Portrush.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mickelson has teed up in The Masters on 33 occasions.\u00a0<\/p>\n

He has made the cut 28 times and won the coveted green jacket three times (2004, 2006, 2010).\u00a0<\/p>\n

Mickelson missed the 2022 Masters owing to the fallout from his $200m move to LIV.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Augusta National officials claimed Mickelson was not dis-invited but instead chose not to play.<\/p>\n

Jon Rahm currently leads LIV Golf’s individual standings.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Spaniard claimed victory last week in Hong Kong. It was his first win since August 2024.<\/p>\n
