EDINBURGH have confirmed that Scotland internationalists Dave Cherry and Ali Price will leave the club at the end of the season. Both players are expected to move to France, having been linked to Montpellier<\/a> and Vannes, respectively.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hooker Cherry, who is 34-years-old, has made over 100 appearances for the club over the last six years having spent several years prior to that playing second-tier rugby in England and France before finally getting a top-flight opportunity. He has played 16 times for Scotland and started all five matches during the recent Six Nations campaign after spending the previous 16 months in international exile following his early departure from the 2023 World Cup squad. He has also been linked to Leicester Tigers.<\/p>\n

Scrum-half Price, who is 31, joined the capital club in November 2023, initially on a loan deal from Glasgow Warriors until the end of the season, and then on a contract which runs out this summer. He has been capped 71 times by Scotland since his debut in November 2016, and four Tests for the Lions during the summer of 2021, against Japan (one Test match) and South Africa (three Test matches).<\/p>\n

\u201cDave and Ali have both made significant contributions to Edinburgh Rugby and we thank them for their dedication and commitment to the club,\u201d said Edinburgh head coach Sean Everitt.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cDave has given a lot during his time at the club, but it is a position we are well stocked with good young Scottish talent and, therefore, we have decided not to continue his deal, and wish him the very best in his next steps.<\/p>\n
