A man has died following a blaze at a Glasgow flat<\/a>. Emergency services rushed to the scene on Carnoustie Street, in Tradeston, around 7.20pm on Tuesday, March 10.<\/p>\n

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service<\/a> sent six appliances to the incident yesterday evening, as roads around the area were locked down. An image from the scene shows a huge emergency response to the incident, with police<\/a> and the Scottish Ambulance Service all in attendance.<\/p>\n

The man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, however, he died a short time later. Police say the death is being treated as “unexplained” and investigations are ongoing.<\/p>\n

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.20pm on Tuesday, 10 March, 2026, we were called to a report of a fire at a flat on Carnoustie Street in Glasgow.<\/p>\n

“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by Scottish Fire and Rescue Service.<\/p>\n

“A man was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital<\/a> in Glasgow, however he died a short time later.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.\u201d<\/p>\n

Area Commander Andy Kenna, the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service\u2019s local senior officer for the City of Glasgow, said: \u201cAt 6.36pm on Tuesday, 10 March, we were mobilised to a fire on Carnoustie Street, Glasgow.<\/p>\n

\u201cSix appliances were at the scene, and firefighters worked to extinguish a fire affecting a flat in a six-storey building.<\/p>\n

\u201cOne adult male has sadly passed away. Our thoughts are very much with their family, friends and the wider community at this difficult time.<\/p>\n
