{"id":819566,"date":"2026-03-11T20:26:24","date_gmt":"2026-03-11T20:26:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/819566\/"},"modified":"2026-03-11T20:26:24","modified_gmt":"2026-03-11T20:26:24","slug":"aramco-asks-asian-buyers-for-dual-red-sea-hormuz-oil-supply-plans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/819566\/","title":{"rendered":"Aramco Asks Asian Buyers for Dual Red Sea-Hormuz Oil Supply Plans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"speakable\">Saudi Arabia\u2019s oil giant Aramco is requesting from Asian buyers to nominate crude loading plans for April for both its key export port in the Gulf and the export alternative on the Red Sea, multiple sources told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/energy\/aramco-asks-buyers-dual-loading-nominations-amid-hormuz-crisis-sources-say-2026-03-11\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reuters<\/a> on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The crisis at the <a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Energy-General\/The-Strait-of-Hormuz-What-It-Is-Where-It-Is-and-Why-It-Matters.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Strait of Hormuz<\/a> has reverberated through global markets. With the Strait effectively blocked for tanker traffic, Saudi Arabia has diverted part of its crude oil exports from the Ras Tanura export terminal in the Gulf that needs free-flowing traffic through Hormuz to the Yanbu export port on the Red Sea.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The loading option at Yanbu applies only to the purchase of Arab Light, Saudi Arabia\u2019s flagship crude grade, according to Reuters\u2019 sources.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Roughnecks-Riches-Start-Up-American-Fracking\/dp\/B0FCDBHGSW\" class=\"charts_banner_clicked charts_banner_add_view\" data-banner_id=\"38\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"not_lightbox\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/book.jpg\"\/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Saudi Arabia can replace a small portion of the lost export option at the Ras Tanura port with loadings from Yanbu, which bypass the Strait of Hormuz.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Saudi Aramco uses the East-West pipeline which on paper has the capacity to move about 7 million barrels per day (bpd) of crude towards the Red Sea. But there\u2019s the question about how much can the terminals at Yanbu load, with some estimates putting this capacity at around 3 million bpd, Vortexa <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vortexa.com\/insights\/strait-of-hormuz-alternatives-for-crude\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a> last week.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/oilprice.com\/Energy\/Energy-General\/Little-Known-US-Company-Lands-Important-Pentagon-Contract-in-Rare-Earth-Race.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Related: <\/strong><strong>Little-Known US Company Lands Important Pentagon Contract in Rare Earth Race<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Between March 1 and 9, immediately after the Strait of Hormuz was effectively shut for tanker traffic, loadings at Yanbu averaged 2.2 million bpd, doubled compared to the February average, according to LSEG data cited by Reuters.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>From the Strait of Hormuz, Aramco shipped some 6 million bpd before the blockage.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Yanbu on the Red Sea cannot offset all the lost shipments via the Strait of Hormuz.
