However, it’s worth noting Leeds have won once away from home all season, but have taken the lead in each of our last four away games.

Can Leeds United repeat Crystal Palace brilliance at Selhurst Park amidst hectic Eagles schedule?

Up next for Leeds is an away trip to Crystal Palace. In three visits to Palace as a Premier League side since the turn of the millennium, Leeds have picked up one point, losing twice either side of a 0-0 draw for Jesse Marsch in April 2022.

This season, though, Leeds can take some credit for beginning Oliver Glasner’s fall from grace at Selhurst Park. A 4-1 battering at Elland Road in December saw Glasner begin to lose his previously strong footing with the Eagles fanbase, now already confirmed as leaving with the relationship now crumbling.

Dispatching of Spurs last time out leaves Palace nigh on certain to avoid the drop. So, all focus is on the Europa Conference League and their first leg at home to Larnaca this week.

Palace have struggled with a very thin squad all season, so there should be hope for Leeds that Glasner goes full strength against the Cypriot side, leaving them leggy on Sunday afternoon.

Crystal Palace team news confirmed pre-Leeds United: Daniel Munoz concern

Palace have to juggle a handful of injury concerns for this week’s busy schedule. Ahead of Thursday, Glasner confirmed that striker Jean-Philippe Mateta is back in the squad, while Maxence Lacroix (suspension) and Jefferson Lerma are available too.

However, flying wing-back Daniel Munoz will be missing against Larnaca with a viewe to being back against Leeds on Sunday.

“Daniel Muñoz will miss this game,” Glasner told CPFC. “He’s working hard with our medical staff to be ready for the Leeds game.”

The Eagles boss also looked beyond Thursday’s Conference League tie. Glasner is already wary of the Leeds side that will travel down to South London.

“The new players are really getting integrated [with the group] very well. It’s not one-way, it’s two-ways, but it’s quite easy because the player who are here are great lads, and so are the new ones as well, so it’s maybe easier,” he continued.

“It just gives us more options and we need this now. We have a three-game week again, and are expecting a very physical and intense game against Leeds, where we got punished at Elland Road [in December]. Therefore, we need all these options, and it’s good to have them.”

Leeds United need 90-minute performance to secure ideal Crystal Palace away win

As I mentioned above, Leeds have taken the lead in the last four away games in the Premier League. What has let us down is our second-half performances.

That’s down to Farke to resolve. Can he begin to demonstrate that he’s capable of seeing out results after setting us up so brilliantly from the off?

If he’s capable of doing that, I’d fancy us to go to Palace and get a win that would put us on the brink of staying in the league.

Glasner knows what to expect here. We need to show quality, but hopefully they’re feeling the hangover of playing on Thursday.

            0%
Love

            50%
Funny

            0%
Wow

            0%
Sad

            50%
Angry

  Post navigation

Leeds United travel to Crystal Palace this Sunday looking to repeat our stunning 4-1 win over the Eagles…

[8814
748,1925,25764,393,4884,1860,2922,142361,27038,142362,16,15
post-820148","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-leeds","tag-britain","tag-crystal-palace","tag-elland-road","tag-england","tag-great-britain","tag-leeds","tag-leeds-united","tag-lufc","tag-oliver-glasner","tag-the-whites","tag-uk","tag-united-kingdom
["GET
