Luckily for us, the vibrant <strong>Middlewood Locks Fest<\/strong> returns <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/things-to-do-weekend\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/things-to-do-weekend\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_2\" data-category=\"click_internal\">this weekend<\/a> with food, drinks and fun for all the family \u2013 and it\u2019s<strong> completely free<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The second annual <strong>canal-side festival<\/strong> at the award winning Middlewood Locks neighbourhood in Salford takes place on <strong>Saturday 10th May from 2pm until 10pm<\/strong>, bringing a daytime market, children\u2019s interactive workshops, face painting, <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/gigs-in-manchester\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/gigs-in-manchester\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_3\" data-category=\"click_internal\">live music<\/a> with performances from The Ski Band and others, a pop-up pub and street food vendors, <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/water-parks-manchester\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/water-parks-manchester\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_4\" data-category=\"click_internal\">water-based activities<\/a>, as well as a spectacular fire display at dusk to the space.<\/p>\n<p> <img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-71943 size-full\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=\" http:=\"\" alt=\"middlewood locks fest people sat drinking\" width=\"1200\" height=\"800\" data-lazy- data-lazy- data-lazy-src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/middlewood-locks-festival.jpg\"\/>Credit: Supplied <\/p>\n<p>Middlewood Locks Fest is a<strong> free to attend<\/strong> event with key highlights including a <strong>giant Canadian goose puppet<\/strong> celebrating the abundance of waterside wildlife at Middlewood Locks, and a unique <strong>speaking and listening bike<\/strong>, recording stories about memories of the canal. <a href=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/street-food-manchester\/\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" target=\"_self\" class=\"shortcode-outbound-link\" data-has-ga=\"true\" data-ga-type=\"click\" data-label=\"https:\/\/secretmanchester.com\/street-food-manchester\/\" data-action=\"text_cta_5\" data-category=\"click_internal\">Street food<\/a> vendors are set to include some of the city\u2019s finest, such as <strong>Taka Taka Mama, Gingers Ice Cream Emporium <\/strong>and <strong>Adams &amp; Bury Canal Society <\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Makers Market<\/strong> is also set to make an appearance at Middlewood Locks Fest, bringing together local makers, artisans, performers and creators selling a range of beautiful products such as jewellery, plants, artwork, clothes and produce.<\/p>\n<p>The Canal &amp;
