Members of the Swedish royal family came together at Stockholm’s Royal Palace for a state banquet on Tuesday. King Carl XVI Gustaf<\/strong> and\u00a0Queen Silvia\u00a0<\/strong>of Sweden hosted the glittering affair for the President of Iceland,\u00a0Halla T\u00f3masd\u00f3ttir<\/strong>, who is currently paying a state visit to the country, and her husband, Bj\u00f6rn Sk\u00falason<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Queen and her daughters, Crown Princess Victoria<\/strong> and Princess Madeleine<\/strong>, all dazzled in tiaras and gowns at the dinner. According to The Court Jeweller<\/a>, Queen Silvia wore Queen Sofia’s Tiara, while Victoria opted for the Aquamarine Kokoshnik Tiara and Madeleine the King Edward VII Ruby Tiara. The state banquet is said to have been the first time that Princess Madeleine has worn the ruby and diamond sparkler.<\/p>\n

The King and Queen’s daughters were accompanied to the banquet by their respective husbands, Prince Daniel<\/strong> and Christopher O’Neill<\/strong>. Their Majesties’ son\u00a0Prince Carl Philip\u00a0<\/strong>was also in attendance, but his wife,\u00a0Princess Sofia<\/strong>, was noticeably missing.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sofia was out last week to celebrate her father-in-law, the King’s 79th birthday on April 30<\/a>. The mom of four joined the royals at the Royal Palace in Stockholm, holding her and Carl Philip’s baby girl, Princess<\/strong> Ines Marie Lilian Silvia<\/strong>. Two of the Prince Couple’s three sons, Prince\u00a0<\/strong>Alexander<\/strong>, 9, and Prince\u00a0<\/strong>Gabriel<\/strong>, 7, also appeared on the balcony.<\/p>\n

Sofia and Carl Philip became parents for the fourth time earlier this year. The Prince and Princess’ daughter, Ines, was born on Feb. 7, 2025 at Stockholm’s Danderyd Hospital<\/a>. “We are happy to welcome our newborn daughter into the world<\/a>,” Carl Philip said after the birth of his fourth child (translated to English). “The big brothers are now looking forward to getting to know their new little sister.”<\/p>\n

Months after her pregnancy was announced last year,<\/a> Sofia told Vogue Scandinavia<\/a> that she “always, always, always dreamt of a family.” The Swedish Princess revealed, “It\u2019s one of my biggest goals in life. Not everyone has that \u2013 I had that.”<\/p>\n

\u201cBoth me and my husband come from a family of five \u2013 with three kids \u2013 so we thought that that would be a good number, and we felt quite satisfied with that,” Sofia continued. “But, gratefully, there\u2019s a bonus on the way. We feel very humble and grateful. It was maybe not in the plan, but now we are very, very excited.
