EastEnders<\/a> has delighted fans with an unexpected mention of Sharon Watts<\/a> (Letitia Dean<\/a>), with Phil Mitchell<\/a> (Steve McFadden<\/a>) pretty much confirming that she will be back. <\/p>\n The queen of Walford hasn\u2019t been since October<\/a>, just weeks after she staged an almighty return to the BBC One soap, which brought her face-to-face with Zoe Slater<\/a> (Michelle Ryan<\/a>). <\/p>\n It was a showdown two decades in the making, with Sharon still struggling with dad Den\u2019s (Leslie Grantham) demise, which she held Zoe partly responsible for. <\/p>\n In a desperate bid to find her son, Zoe resorted to lies about Sharon\u2019s one true love Dennis Rickman (Nigel Harman), claiming that the former show icon \u2013 who died in 2005 \u2013 was her boy\u2019s father<\/a>, hoping Sharon would fork out the money for a private investigator. <\/p>\n After the initial shock of such claims set in, Sharon put her grudge with Zoe aside and decided to help, determined to track down Dennis\u2019 son \u2013 who would\u2019ve also been her beloved Denny\u2019s (Bleud Landau) brother. <\/p>\n Amid all the chaos of Zoe\u2019s comeback, the former Queen Vic landlady was also left reeling when sister Vicki Fowler<\/a> (Alice Haig<\/a>) was attacked by stepson Joel Marshall (Max Murray)<\/a> and thus resolved to get her out of Walford.<\/p>\n Vicki subsequently returned without Sharon and she discovered that Zoe had fabricated the entire story about Dennis being her missing son\u2019s dad. <\/p>\n \t\t Without wasting a second, she notified Sharon, who was so heartbroken by the development she resolved to stay away<\/a>, stating that the news was like Denny had \u2018died all over again\u2019. <\/p>\n Sharon headed to America to stay with Michelle Fowler (Susan Tully) and has not yet returned to screens. The character remains a hugely popular one with audiences of the show, who often voice their desire to see her back on the Square some day. <\/p>\n \t\t And good news came earlier this week when Phil Mitchell put Mark Fowler Jr<\/a> (Stephen Aaron-Sipple<\/a>) in charge at the Boxing Den, telling him to take the reins \u2018until [Sharon\u2019s] back\u2019.<\/p>\n While there\u2019s nothing currently known about when she will be back, such dialogue appears to confirm the fact that she will be back one day \u2013 and that is music to our ears, as we imagine it is to all the fans that\u2019s missing her. <\/p>\n EastEnders airs Mondays to Thursdays at 7:30pm on BBC One or stream from 6am on BBC iPlayer.<\/strong><\/p>\n \t\t\t\tDon’t miss a Soaps scoop!
