Lee Buchanan has suffered a set-back in his quest to return from a long-term knee injury.<\/p>\n
The left-back played his first minutes in over 14 months for Birmingham City\u2019s<\/a> under-21s against Middlesbrough last week but hasn\u2019t been able to build on it.<\/p>\n Buchanan,<\/a> who last played for Blues\u2019 first team in December 2024, experienced some discomfort and his comeback has been put on ice.<\/p>\n Ensure our latest headlines always appear at the top of your Google Search<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s picked up another knock unfortunately, which is really hard to take for Lee and everyone around him because he\u2019s been training really well. It looks like that will set him back another few weeks,\u201d Chris Davies<\/a> confirmed to BirminghamLive<\/strong> on Friday afternoon.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s really unfortunate. He\u2019s handled it with a lot of courage.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m sure he\u2019s hurting and we\u2019re really gutted about the situation, but he\u2019s stayed very professional and very consistent.<\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s trying to face the challenges head on. He knows that he\u2019s young enough, he\u2019s not a 34-year-old and that\u2019s it, we just need to find a consistency in his training programme to get him fit and robust enough to start lasting in matches.<\/p>\n \u201cThat will happen. He\u2019s just having a really torrid time of injuries.
