Experts note that this situation is primarily driven by relatively warm weather, which contributes to the deterioration of carrot quality in storage. As a result, farmers are trying to sell lower‑quality carrots as quickly as possible, which has inevitably affected the overall price dynamics in the market.

As of today, carrots are being sold at 6–12 UAH/kg ($0.14–0.27/kg), which is on average 20% cheaper than at the end of the previous workweek. Producers attribute this downward price trend to an increase in carrot supply on the market, as farms that had previously refrained from sales are now actively selling their available volumes. At the same time, the supply of substandard roots remains quite substantial, which also puts pressure on prices for higher‑quality products.

It is worth noting that carrot prices in Ukraine are currently 72% lower on average than in the first ten days of March 2025.
