The Israeli nevertheless finished the stage, albeit in last position.Stage 2<\/p>\n<p><b>Lennert van Eetvelt <\/b>was a DNS at the start of the day, with his Lotto-Intermarche team reporting lingering effects from a Strade Bianche crash<\/p>\n<p>On the stage itself, <b>Martin Marcellusi <\/b>was involved in a scary moment as he somersaulted off-road and down an embankment. Thankfully though, he managed to get back on his bike finish the stage.<\/p>\n<p>Then in the gravel finale, the likes of <b><a href=\"https:\/\/cyclinguptodate.com\/thymen-arensman\" title=\"Thymen Arensman\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thymen Arensman<\/a><\/b>, <b><a href=\"https:\/\/cyclinguptodate.com\/matteo-jorgenson\" title=\"Matteo Jorgenson\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Matteo Jorgenson<\/a><\/b> and <b>Carlos Samudio<\/b> were among the riders to slide out painfully.Stage 3\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Nothing to note.<\/p>\n<p>Stage 4Alpecin-Premier Tech&#8217;s <b>Michael Gogl<\/b> crashed whilst attempting to put on a rain jacket. The incident was then immediately made much scarier as <a href=\"https:\/\/cyclinguptodate.com\/cycling\/video-michael-gogl-involved-in-frightening-tirreno-adriatico-crash-as-tv-motorbike-runs-over-rider\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a TV motorbike following behind went straight over him<\/a>. Thankfully, he was able to get back on his bike and finish the stage.Stage 5<\/p>\n<p><b>Fernando Gaviria<\/b> did not finish the stage whilst <b>Xandro Meurisse<\/b> and<b> Ilan van Wilder <\/b>were both DNS on the day.
