The Duke and Duchess of Sussex and the Prince and Princess of Wales were once close and dubbed the \u201cFab Four\u201d soon after Meghan married into the Royal Family, however, <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.express.co.uk\/news\/royal\/2181096\/prince-william-australia-message\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">things quickly took a turn for the worse<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In his forthcoming book, Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, extracts of which have been serialised by <a data-link-tracking=\"InArticle|Link\" href=\"https:\/\/www.thetimes.com\/uk\/royal-family\/article\/prince-harry-meghan-duchess-of-sussex-pj78sjz3w\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">The Times Magazine<\/a>, Tom Bower delves into the reconciliation meeting between the two couples during which Meghan allegedly \u201csnapped\u201d at William, telling him: \u201cIf you don\u2019t mind, get your finger out of my face.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mr Bower writes: \u201cThe teatime reconciliation meeting between the brothers and their wives had spun out of control. Sitting in the Cambridges\u2019 recently redecorated 20-room Kensington Palace apartment, soon after the Sussexes returned from their honeymoon in June 2018, Harry watched the confrontation escalate.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWilliam\u2019s dislike of Meghan had been obvious after his warning to Harry before their engagement. \u2018It\u2019s gone too quickly,\u2019 William had said about the speed of Harry\u2019s relationship with \u2018the American actress\u2019. William\u2019s suspicion of Meghan was echoed by his wife.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said: \u201cMr Bower\u2019s commentary has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation. This is someone who has publicly stated, &#8216;the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,&#8217; language that speaks for itself. He has made a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met.
