A Coventry<\/a> company has been fined after a man was found working illegally by the Home Office. Coventry Tyres in Tile Hill<\/a> has been handed a penalty of \u00a345,000.<\/p>\n Officials at the Home Office publicly highlight businesses employing people without legal status, as illegal working is considered a significant factor in attracting undocumented migrants. More than 17,400 raids were conducted across the UK between July 2024 and December 2025.<\/p>\n Fines for illegal working were increased last year amid tougher measures in Coventry<\/a> and the Midlands. Bosses were fined \u00a345,000.<\/p>\n Companies across Coventry<\/a> and Warwickshire<\/a> have been fined for illegal working. Among them is Allin Kitchen Ltd in Leamington Spa<\/a>, which was ordered to pay \u00a3135,000.<\/p>\n A spokesman for the Home Office told CoventryLive<\/a>: \u201cIllegal working undermines honest employers, undercuts local wages and fuels organised immigration crime. Since coming to power, enforcement action nationwide has increased, with an 83 per cent rise in illegal working arrests, and we will be stepping up that action further in the year ahead.\u201d<\/p>\n Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood said: \u201cWe have surged enforcement activity to the highest level in British history, so illegal migrants in the black economy have nowhere to hide.
