Liverpool has secured Alisson Becker for another year after triggering the option on his contract at Anfield, but the goalkeeper has already outlined his exit strategy<\/p>\n

Alisson Becker is here to stay – although the goalkeeper may have already given the game away on what the future holds for him when his contract at Liverpool does eventually run out.<\/p>\n

The Brazilian looks set to stay at Anfield until 2027, with the club having triggered the option on his contract to extend his current deal by a further year<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Alisson<\/a> had been linked with a exit from the Reds in the summer, with a move back to Italy having been touted amid suggestions that Juventus and AC Milan were interested<\/a>, but Liverpool now looks to have put any doubts over his immediate future to bed.<\/p>\n

Having made the move to Merseyside in 2018, Alisson has firmly cemented his place as a modern Liverpool legend, and will go down as one of the club\u2019s greatest players, never mind goalkeepers, when he does eventually decide to move on.<\/p>\n

And, while he is set to stay put at Anfield for another year, he has already made it clear that he does plan on leaving the club at some point.<\/p>\n

Speaking about his future last summer, Alisson outlined his plans to return to Brazil before the end of his career<\/a>, and rejoin his boyhood club Internacional, having began his career at the Porto Alegre club before moving to Roma in 2016.<\/p>\n

“I talk to athletes who have made this move to return, some have had good experiences, others not,\u201d Alisson revealed.<\/p>\n

“Each one will have their own experience, but I want to return, especially to Inter. I don’t know when it will happen, but I still want to do it at a high level. That’s what I have planned.”<\/p>\n

At 33, and with goalkeepers generally having longer careers than outfield players, there is perhaps the option for Alisson to move to another club from Liverpool before making that return to Brazil.<\/p>\n

Given the injury problems he has suffered in recent years though<\/a>, and his desire to move back home still at a \u201chigh level\u201d as he puts it, 2027 may well prove to be the ideal time for him call time on his Anfield career, and head back to Internacional.<\/p>\n

With two Premier League titles, a Champions League and plenty of other pieces of silverware in his collection, Alisson of course has nothing else to prove in Europe, and his status at Liverpool is well and truly secure.
