Meghan Markle<\/a> allegedly had a row with Prince William<\/a> during a reconciliation meeting, a new royal book has claimed. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex\u2019s relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales has gone frosty since their bombshell departure from the Firm in 2020, but according to a new book, their rift was evident way before.<\/p>\n

In his forthcoming book, Betrayal: Power, Deceit and the Fight for the Future of the Royal Family, extracts of which have been serialised by The Times Magazine<\/a>, Tom Bower delves into the reconciliation meeting between the two couples<\/a> during which Meghan allegedly \u201csnapped\u201d at William, telling him: \u201cIf you don\u2019t mind, get your finger out of my face.\u201d<\/p>\n

The meeting is said to have taken place at Kensington Palace, after the Sussexes\u2019 honeymoon in 2018.<\/p>\n

Mr Bower writes: \u201cThe teatime reconciliation meeting between the brothers and their wives had spun out of control. Sitting in the Cambridges\u2019 recently redecorated 20-room Kensington Palace apartment, soon after the Sussexes returned from their honeymoon in June 2018, Harry watched the confrontation escalate. William\u2019s dislike of Meghan had been obvious after his warning to Harry before their engagement. \u2018It\u2019s gone too quickly,\u2019 William had said about the speed of Harry\u2019s relationship with \u2018the American actress\u2019. William\u2019s suspicion of Meghan was echoed by his wife.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan<\/a> said: \u201cMr Bower\u2019s commentary has long crossed the line from criticism into fixation. This is someone who has publicly stated, ‘the monarchy in fact depends on actually obliterating the Sussexes from our state of life,’ language that speaks for itself. He has made a career out of constructing ever more elaborate theories about people he does not know and has never met. Those interested in facts will look elsewhere; those seeking deranged conspiracy and melodrama know exactly where to find him.\u201d<\/p>\n
