It\u2019s not hard to see why \u2013 the combo of good vibes and delicious food is hard to beat.\u00a0Last month\u00a0Dishoom announced that it would be opening a caf\u00e9 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/glasgow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Glasgow<\/a>, and now there\u2019s even more news of expansion from the chain.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/leeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Leeds<\/a> could be the next major UK city set to get a Dishoom, according to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thecaterer.com\/news\/dishoom-to-open-leeds-restaurant\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Caterer<\/a>. The hospitality publication\u00a0reports that planning permission to turn 68-78 Vicar Lane, near the city centre, into\u00a0a Dishoom\u00a0restaurant was received by Leeds City Council in March. Investment company Town Centre Securities (TCS) owns the space.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>If the planning application is successful, the building is set to be \u2018sympathetically transformed to align with Dishoom\u2019s distinctive design style\u2019, according to TCS. It\u2019s expected to feature much of the same rustic, Bombay Irani caf\u00e9 stylings that feature in other Dishooms.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for TCS said\u00a0that the company is \u2018thrilled at the opportunity to bring Dishoom to Leeds and be able to provide such an iconic space in the heart of the city.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018Dishoom is a brand that has redefined dining experiences in the UK, and their decision to come to Leeds \u2013 and specifically to this key location, is a strong vote of confidence in the city\u2019s continued growth as a regional destination for food, retail and culture.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Where are <strong>Dishoom\u2019s current locations, and where is it expanding to?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are currently\u00a010 Dishoom branches in the UK, seven of which are in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">London<\/a>. These include <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/things-to-do\/london-soho-area-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Soho<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/things-to-do\/covent-garden-area-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Covent Garden<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/restaurants\/shoreditch-restaurants\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Shoreditch<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/london\/things-to-do\/kings-cross-area-guide\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">King\u2019s Cross<\/a>, Canary Wharf, Kensington, and Battersea. There are also locations in Manchester, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/birmingham\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Birmingham<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/edinburgh\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Edinburgh<\/a>, with more laid-back \u2018Permit Rooms\u2019 in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/brighton\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Brighton<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/cambridge\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Cambridge<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/oxford\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Oxford<\/a>, and Portobello.<\/p>\n<p>As well as expanding to Glasgow, and potentially Leeds, there has been some talk about the chain travelling across the Atlantic and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/newyork\/news\/this-famous-indian-restaurant-from-london-might-finally-be-opening-in-nyc-040125\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">opening up a location in New York<\/a> next year. Based on its continued success, it\u2019s pretty likely these won&#8217;t be the last places to be graced by the curry house at some point in the coming years.<\/p>\n<p>Eating out in the UK<\/p>\n<p>While you wait for Dishoom to arrive in Leeds, why not <a href=\"https:\/\/www.timeout.com\/leeds\/restaurants\/the-best-restaurants-in-leeds\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">try one of the city\u2019s best restaurants, as named by us<\/a>?
