But nutrition labels aren\u2019t based on how much heat something produces when burned. That\u2019s why the FDA requires different calculation methods for these ingredients when determining calories. David is 150 calories.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">Lawyers for the plaintiffs, as well as representatives for David Protein, did not immediately return The Independent\u2019s request for further comment.<\/p>\n<p class=\"mb-4 text-lg md:leading-8 break-words\">The class action lawsuit claims David Protein, which launched in late 2024, inflated the numbers in \u201cunlawful and deceptive practices in labeling and marketing\u201d to boost sales. The lawsuit seeks to represent anyone who bought misbranded protein bars in California, Illinois and New York.
