{"id":829605,"date":"2026-03-16T13:01:22","date_gmt":"2026-03-16T13:01:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/829605\/"},"modified":"2026-03-16T13:01:22","modified_gmt":"2026-03-16T13:01:22","slug":"ruffarchitects-completes-176-affordable-homes-for-hounslow","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/829605\/","title":{"rendered":"RUFFARCHITECTS completes 176 affordable homes for Hounslow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Built on half a hectare of land previously occupied by Network Rail, New Road Triangle in the London Borough of Hounslow is part of a wider regeneration scheme being led by developers EcoWorld London and Lampton Development 360 in partnership with the council.<\/p>\n<p>The two residential buildings comprise a 14-storey tower on the western edge of Longford River and an 11-storey block running east-west along New Road \u2013 the larger building chamfered and stepped.<\/p>\n<p>Both buildings feature four balcony typologies, designed to \u2018soften\u2019 the gable and long elevations.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-819714\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/241126_NRT-023-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Internally, the 176 affordable apartments are varied in layout, size and typology with 84 social rent units being managed by Hounslow Council and the remainder for market sale catering specifically to local households. The one-, two- and three-bedroom flats were part-funded by the Greater London Authority\u2019s Homes for Londoners programme.<\/p>\n<p>With a new frontage to Longford River, the scheme creates a new connection to Hounslow\u2019s Glebelands Park.<\/p>\n<p>The landscaping strategy includes new native planting, green roofs and improved access to wider greening, increasing the site\u2019s biodiversity by 50 per cent.<\/p>\n<p>Across the development there is also a 70 per cent carbon reduction via the implementation of air source heat pumps, solar panels and sustainable construction methods.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-819708\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/241126_NRT-017-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\"  \/><\/p>\n<p>Architect\u2019s view<\/p>\n<p>New Road Triangle presented a unique opportunity to deliver a technically rigorous and architecturally expressive scheme on a constrained urban site.
