Baywatch star David Hasselhoff is reportedly “living on borrowed time” according to a source close to the 72-year-old actor.<\/p>\n

The television icon was spotted in a wheelchair at Cancun airport in Mexico on Monday before limping through LAX in California.<\/p>\n

These concerning images have emerged just weeks after his ex-wife Pamela Bach’s tragic suicide.<\/p>\n

Hasselhoff was seen leaning heavily on his Welsh wife Hayley, 45, as they returned from their Mexican holiday.<\/p>\n

Dressed in a striped shirt, black baseball cap and slacks, the actor gave a thumbs up to photographers despite his apparent mobility issues.<\/p>\n

The couple have been married for seven years, with Hayley supporting her husband who is 27 years her senior.<\/p>\n

A source close to the father-of-two told the Mail that whilst Hasselhoff is now sober, his health “has been declining for some time” as a result of “decades of alcoholism”.<\/p>\n

The insider also pointed to his age and major operations, including having a defibrillator fitted to prevent a heart attack.<\/p>\n

“He knows that every surgery could be the last,” the source added.<\/p>\n

Bach, 61, tragically took her own life on March 5 at her Hollywood Hills home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.<\/p>\n

Paramedics discovered the mother-of-two’s body after being called to the residence.<\/p>\n

Hasselhoff, who shares two daughters with the late actress, said through a spokesperson that his family was “deeply saddened” by her sudden passing.<\/p>\n

The source told the Mail: “David is living on borrowed time and has lived hard. He had a life that people could only dream of but he also spent decades self-medicating through alcohol and other substances, which he does regret.”<\/p>\n

Bach had previously claimed that alcohol played a central role in their split, saying “drink was taking over his life”.<\/p>\n

However, Hasselhoff’s representative told the Mirror: “He’s doing fine and actually they were returning from a great vacation in Cancun.<\/p>\n

“He is scheduled to have knee surgery next week, hence the wheelchair.”<\/p>\n

Hasselhoff has spoken publicly about his struggles with alcohol in the past, acknowledging in a 2015 interview that “alcohol can become deadly”.<\/p>\n

The couple met on the set of Knight Rider in 1986 when Hasselhoff was still married to his first wife Catherine Hickland.<\/p>\n

They reconnected in 1989 on the Baywatch set where Bach had secured a small role.<\/p>\n
