The Federal Trade Commission (FTC) has lost its appeal of a ruling in its case against Microsoft\u2019s $68.7 billion acquisition of Activision Blizzard.<\/p>\n
In 2023, the FTC requested<\/a> a preliminary injunction to prevent the companies from finalizing the deal while its legal challenge to the acquisition from 2022<\/a> was in progress.<\/p>\n \u201cWith control of Activision\u2019s content, Microsoft would have the ability and increased incentive to withhold or degrade Activision\u2019s content in ways that substantially lessen competition \u2013 including competition on product quality, price, and innovation,\u201d the FTC said in its complaint<\/a>.<\/p>\n Today, an appeals court panel affirmed that denial, as reported by Reuters<\/a>.
