The royal family has major trust issues with him and that\u2019s what\u2019s at the heart of everything,\u201d a close source said. \u201cThey don\u2019t trust him and Meghan and that\u2019s why they can\u2019t have a relationship \u2026 maybe there\u2019s room to forgive, but they won\u2019t forget.<\/p>\n

This comes on the heels of Harry\u2019s shocking BBC interview<\/a> last week, in which he said he does not \u201cknow how much longer\u201d his cancer-stricken father<\/a>, King Charles, 76, has to live.<\/p>\n \u201cI have total sympathy with the royal family,\u201d said Hugo Vickers, author and friend of the royal family. \u201cHarry is quite like this mother [the late Princess Diana]. One day, when I was at Buckingham Palace, I was shown the letter that Prince Phillip wrote to Diana in which he said, \u2018Every time Charles talks to you, it\u2019s in the Daily Mail the next day.\u2019<\/p>\n \u201cThe same thing is happening now,\u201d Vickers added. \u201cCharles is, of course, right not to trust him. Harry is hopeless in that respect. Samir Hussein\/WireImage<\/p>\n Buckingham Palace will not comment on the Harry situation.<\/p>\n Vickers noted that it was particularly bad to give an interview in the same week that the king entertained cancer sufferers and survivors<\/a> at Buckingham Palace and spoke out about how he felt about his illness, putting a positive spin on things.<\/p>\n \u201cHarry wrote in \u2018Spare\u2019 how the king told him, \u2018Don\u2019t make my last years miserable\u2019 \u2014 and yet he\u2019s done exactly that,\u201d said Vickers.<\/p>\n \u201cEnough with the \u2018me, me, me\u2019 complaints. The king has got enough on his plate. He\u2019s got the problems of the world on his shoulders and doesn\u2019t need a whiny son.\u201d<\/p>\n Harry flew back to the US straight after his dad\u2019s coronation in May 2023, Page Six revealed.<\/p>\n The source also mused that Harry \u2014 who has not seen his dad since a quick trip to the UK<\/a> after the monarch announced his cancer diagnosis in February 2024 \u2014 could even use the security decision as a reason not to bring his wife and kids back for any future royal funeral.<\/p>\n Vickers added that, \u201cHarry should be begging his father for forgiveness \u2026 and it should be done quietly, not on TV.
