Britain is set for temperatures as high as 20C this week with parts of west Wales and western England seeing the warmest conditions on Wednesday<\/p>\n

Britain is poised to outshine Greece<\/a> this week, with the Met Office<\/a> predicting a surge to highs of 20C in a dramatic weather<\/a> turnaround.<\/p>\n

The forecast suggests that parts of the UK will bask in scorching heat on Wednesday (March 18), whilst weather maps indicate Greece will experience a blend of mild and cooler conditions.<\/p>\n

WXCharts weather maps, compiled using data from MetDesk, reveal that areas of Greece can expect temperatures to hover around 17C and 18C. However, the weather charts suggest that Greek temperatures could plummet to a chilly 2C, hinting at potential instability across the popular European holiday spot.<\/p>\n

Dan Harris, Chief Forecaster at the Met Office, stated: “Wednesday looks likely to be the warmest day of the week for many, with high pressure dominant.<\/p>\n

“The warmest spots are likely to be in parts of west Wales and western England, where under sunny skies, 18-19C, possibly even 20C is on the cards.<\/p>\n

“This is due to the additional boost expected from the passage of east to south-easterly winds over areas of higher ground, known as the Foehn effect.”, reports the Express<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A forecaster from Netweather.tv noted in her weather blog: “The warm plume of air from Spain<\/a> will linger for Wales, southwest and central England and temperatures will be around 14C to 16C but could move into the high teens with more sunshine.<\/p>\n

“Bristol could see 20C on Wednesday and will have a lovely day.”<\/p>\n

For Wednesday, the Met Office has predicted a “dry, warm and mostly sunny day” for England and Wales. Northern Scotland “looks bright”, whilst the remainder of Scotland and Northern Ireland will remain cloudier with patchy rain.<\/p>\n

The Met Office’s outlook for Thursday through to Sunday states: “Some cloud in the north and northeast on Thursday, otherwise largely sunny.<\/p>\n

“Feeling warm in gentle winds. Patchy rain in the far northwest thereafter.
