The latest weather maps show snow battering the UK during a -7C freeze after a period of mild weather<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Maps from WXCharts.com show snow blizzards hitting the country on March 26. Scotland is likely to be the most affected area, with up to 11cm of snow falling in the north of the country.<\/p>\n

The north west of England and Wales will also be hit by the freezing blizzards, but will likely see less snow than Scotland as maps shows up to 4cm in these areas.<\/p>\n

Temperatures will drop and fall around the zero in most of the UK, while in Scotland may go 7C below the zero.<\/p>\n

These cold weather forecast follow a period of mild weather during which temperatures in the UK also reached 22C, and even warmer conditions are expected tomorrow (Thursday, March 19) with high pressure dominant.<\/p>\n

This week, some areas of the UK were hotter than Spain and Greece<\/a>, and Wednesday was described as the hottest day of the week. Areas around the Moray coast, saw sunshine, with temperatures reaching 15-16 \u00b0C. However, much of Scotland and Northern Ireland were cloudy with outbreaks of rain.<\/p>\n

The Met Office<\/a> long-range forecast covering March 26 said the weather will be “changeable” and “unsettled conditions” will previal in many parts of the country.<\/p>\n

Here is the full forecast: “Changeable and at times unsettled conditions for many parts of the UK at the start of this period, as areas of low pressure and their associated frontal zones run close to or over the UK.<\/p>\n

“These are likely to be most active in the north and somewhat weaker further south, closer to a ridge of high pressure extending northeast from the subtropical Atlantic.<\/p>\n

“There is also potential for a period of widely windy weather during the first part of this period.
