West Midlands Police will be cracking down on crime including reckless driving\"A<\/p>\n

A pre-planned partnership approach with Birmingham City Council, faith leaders, local businesses and volunteers was set up to reduce illegal market traders, anti-social behaviour and parking issues.<\/p>\n

West Midlands Police has issued a warning to potential troublemakers as communities celebrate Chaand Raat – the final day of Ramadan – and Eid<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Concerns were raised previously around yob behaviour, noise, and nuisance vehicles \u2013 including cars being driven recklessly and parked irresponsibly, the force said.<\/p>\n

It said there had been a reduction in crime and bad behaviour after officers worked with the city council and a similar operation would be in place during the coming days.<\/p>\n

Officers from the Roads Policing Unit were targeting reckless and dangerous drivers, and illegal vehicles.<\/p>\n

The force warned it would be taking “a zero-tolerance approach on anyone coming to Birmingham<\/a> to drive recklessly and putting others at risk”.<\/p>\n

Chief Insp Chanelle Whitney, from Birmingham Police, said: \u201cWe hope everyone has been enjoying a safe and peaceful Ramadan<\/a>, and we look forward to the celebrations for Chaand Raat and Eid-Al-Fitr.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur team of officers have been having regular conversations within the community, I am pleased the feedback has been positive, and we are grateful for the support we\u2019ve had across east Birmingham.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have listened to concerns and we are here to act on them.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the lead up to the events, should you have any worries or questions about our policing operation, please speak to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

Chief Insp Andy Moseley<\/a>, commander for Chaand Raat, said: \u201cAs ever, our clear focus is on keeping everyone as safe as possible, and we have a comprehensively planned operation running.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe understand the key areas to focus on, and you can expect to see more officers present and ready to help should you need it.<\/p>\n

\u201cThose officers will be working alongside Council partners including trading standards, environmental health, and parking enforcement colleagues.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will be robust in our approach to dealing with problem vehicles – our dedicated Roads Policing Unit will be highly visible in the area as they target reckless drivers, and they do have the power to seize vehicles where necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n
