Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a> was last together with King Charles III<\/strong><\/a> more than one year before claiming his father would not speak to him.<\/p>\n

Shortly after Buckingham Palace announced Charles\u2019 diagnosis with an undisclosed type of cancer<\/a> in February 2024, Us Weekly confirmed that Harry, now 40, traveled to the U.K. to see his father.<\/p>\n

Photos at the time showed a car transporting Harry from London\u2019s Heathrow Airport to Clarence House. (After stepping down as senior working royals, Harry and wife Meghan Markle<\/strong> relocated from London to California in early 2020. He subsequently opened up about tensions within his family in TV interviews, his Netflix series Harry and Meghan, and a bombshell 2023 memoir, Spare.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI love my family,\u201d Harry said during a Good Morning America appearance that month. \u201cThe fact that I was able to get on a plane and go and see him and spend any time with him, I\u2019m grateful for that. I jumped on a plane and went to go see him as soon as I could.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tKing Charles III and Prince Harry face an uphill \u2014 and potential impossible \u2013 battle in ever reaching a reconciliation amid their ongoing years-long feud.The father-son rift arguably hit an all-time low last week, when Harry said in a BBC News interview that cancer-stricken Charles, 76, \u201cwon\u2019t speak with me,\u201d adding \u201cI don\u2019t know how [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n

Harry confirmed in the interview that he would be returning to London in the near future. \u201cI\u2019ve got other trip plans that will take me through the U.K., or back to the U.K.,\u201d he said. \u201cSo, I\u2019ll stop in and see my family as much as I can.\u201d<\/p>\n

Months later, Harry returned to the U.K. for the 10th anniversary of the Invictus Games \u2014 but did not reunite with Charles, now 76.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn response to the many inquiries and continued speculation on whether or not The Duke will meet with his father while in the UK this week, it unfortunately will not be possible due to His Majesty\u2019s full program,\u201d a spokesperson for Harry confirmed to Us in May 2024.<\/p>\n

Prior to this, Harry and Charles were last photographed together<\/a> at Queen Elizabeth II<\/strong>\u2019s funeral, also in London, in September 2022. (Elizabeth died at age 96 at Balmoral Castle in Scotland earlier that month.)<\/p>\n

One year later, Harry and Charles made headlines after the Duke of Sussex sat down with BBC News and discussed their ongoing rift and the monarch\u2019s cancer battle.<\/p>\n

(Harry appeared in court in April to appeal a 2024 decision. U.K. Judge Sir Geoffrey Vos<\/strong> dismissed the appeal on Friday.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIt would be nice to reconcile. There have been so many disagreements between myself and some of my family,\u201d Harry said, noting that he has \u201cforgiven\u201d them.<\/p>\n

Harry claimed that he \u201ccan\u2019t see a world\u201d where he would bring Meghan and their two kids back to the U.K. (Harry and Meghan, who wed in 2018, share 6-year-old Archie and 3-year-old Lilibet.)<\/p>\n

While weighing in on the ongoing rift between the father-son duo, royal expert Christopher Andersen exclusively said to Us via email on Tuesday, May 6, \u201cIt really does look like Charles is taking the \u2018Keep Calm and Carry On\u2019 axiom to a whole other level, doesn\u2019t it?\u201d<\/p>\n
