{"id":836074,"date":"2026-03-19T11:02:18","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T11:02:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/836074\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T11:02:18","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T11:02:18","slug":"dior-unveils-tokyo-store-designed-as-golden-bamboo-version-of-hq","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/836074\/","title":{"rendered":"Dior unveils Tokyo store designed as golden bamboo version of HQ"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fashion house <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/dior\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dior<\/a> has revealed the Dior Bamboo Pavilion concept store in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/tokyo\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Tokyo<\/a>&#8216;s Daikanyama area with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/facades\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">facade<\/a> that was designed to evoke Japanese bamboo forests.<\/p>\n<p>The exterior of the 1,800-square-metre store was designed to replicate Dior&#8217;s townhouse at 30 Montaigne, Paris, similar to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2024\/12\/16\/dior-golden-house-concept-store-bangkok\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Dior Gold House, another concept store that opened in Bangkok<\/a> in 2024.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2307089 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/dior-bamboo-pavilion_dezeen_2364_col_10-852x568.jpg\" alt=\"Dior Bamboo Pavilion exterior\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1575\"   loading=\"lazy\"\/>The store is clad in a golden bamboo facade and decorated with a star<\/p>\n<p>The facade was designed to reference Japanese bamboo forests and is lit up at night. On top of the building sits the Dior star, which has been the symbol of the house since 1947.<\/p>\n<p>While the facade reimagines a French townhouse created from a material that&#8217;s common in Asia, the interior design aimed to blend French touches, such as Versailles parquet flooring, with examples of Japanese craftsmanship.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2307084 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/dior-bamboo-pavilion_dezeen_2364_col_5-852x568.jpg\" alt=\"Interior of Dior Bamboo Pavilion with product shelves\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1575\"   loading=\"lazy\"\/>Versailles parquet flooring was used for the interior<\/p>\n<p>Inside, the Dior Bamboo Pavilion has multiple green spaces, including a conceptual garden by horticulturist <a href=\"https:\/\/from-sora.com\/en\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Seijun Nishihata<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Artist <a href=\"https:\/\/azumamakoto.com\/en\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Azuma Makoto<\/a>\u00a0designed a &#8220;green haven&#8221; of floral art, while designer <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kohdaiiwamoto.com\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Kodai Iwamoto<\/a> created a teahouse made using Japanese craft techniques from materials such as thatch and bamboo.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2307080 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/dior-bamboo-pavilion_dezeen_2364_col_1-852x569.jpg\" alt=\"Japanese lanterns inside Dior shop\" width=\"2364\" height=\"1578\"   loading=\"lazy\"\/>The Dior Bamboo Pavilion also has lanterns decorated with Dior designs<\/p>\n<p>In another nod to its location, the Dior Bamboo Pavilion has a pond filled with koi carp.<\/p>\n<p>Other local touches include Japanese lanterns that were designed to resemble the Lady Dior bag and washi paper wall finishes sculpted like the Parisian mouldings in the headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/2024\/12\/16\/dior-golden-house-concept-store-bangkok\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"><br \/>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<img width=\"191\" height=\"191\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/dior-golden-house-concept-store-bangkok-sq_dezeen_2364_col_0-191x191.jpg\" class=\"excludeLightbox wp-post-image\" alt=\"Dior Golden House concept store in Bangkok\" decoding=\"async\" data-pin-nopin=\"true\"   loading=\"lazy\"\/><\/p>\n<p> Dior wraps Bangkok concept store in golden replicas of HQ facade\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n<p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Described by the brand as &#8220;an Eden spread over more than 1,800 square meters, where a thousand and one botanical references come to life in homage to Christian Dior&#8217;s love for the beauty of nature&#8221;, the store was created to showcase the collections by new creative director <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dezeen.com\/tag\/jonathan-anderson\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Jonathan Anderson<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>These include menswear and womenswear, as well as leather goods, jewellery and accessories.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-2307094 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/dior-bamboo-pavilion-teahouse_dezeen_2364_col_0-852x1277.jpg\" alt=\"Tea pavilion in Daikanyama\" width=\"1577\" height=\"2364\"   loading=\"lazy\"\/>A thatched teahouse by Kodai Iwamoto sits next to the main pavilion.
