A Bristol nursery where “happy and confident” children have “fun-packed’ days” has been praised by Ofsted. Partou Little Big Steps Nursery and Pre-school in Bristol has been rated \u2018Good\u2019 in all areas.<\/p>\n
Inspectors said parents report their children “love coming to the nursery”. They said they have also “grown in confidence” since attending”.<\/p>\n
Located in The Park Centre on Daventry Road, the purpose-built nursery serves families principally from the Filwood Park and Knowle<\/a> areas of the city.<\/p>\n Bosses say the nursery is full of bright, spacious playrooms complemented by safe outdoor areas for the children to explore.<\/p>\n In reaching their judgement, the Ofsted inspectors looked at the quality of education provided both indoors and outdoors.<\/p>\n They also spoke to parents and team members, joined nursery manager Bev Wells on a learning walk around the facilities and accompanied her in observing a group activity.<\/p>\n The final report said: “Children are happy and confident in the nursery environment. Staff have good relationships with children that enable them to feel safe and secure.<\/p>\n “They provide children with a learning environment that is centred around their needs.<\/p>\n Sign up to receive daily news updates and breaking news alerts straight to your inbox for free here<\/a><\/strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n “For example, the youngest children have opportunities to develop their communication skills when they share books with staff and make sounds of animals they see in the book. Older children develop their small physical movements ready for early writing skills when they tip and pour water with jugs, pipettes and large spoons.<\/p>\n “Staff are close by to support and model play, and they praise children for having a go.”<\/p>\n The inspectors also praised Partou Little Big Steps for developing and delivering \u201ca curriculum that promotes children’s independence and confidence to ensure children are ready for their next stage of learning.\u201d<\/p>\n They added: “All children show high levels of confidence and engage with play for extended periods. Staff promote children’s language and communication at every opportunity.”<\/p>\n The inspectors said staff are \u201cwell supported” with “regular opportunities to discuss their health and wellbeing, as well as their training needs and workload”.<\/p>\n The report also deemed safeguarding arrangements to be \u201ceffective”, with inspectors saying: \u201cThere is an open and positive culture around safeguarding that puts children’s interests first.\u201d<\/p>\n Bev Wells, Partou Little Big Steps nursery manager, said: “We are really pleased to receive a \u2018Good\u2019 rating across all areas of activity.<\/p>\n \u201cI am proud to lead such a strong team of highly qualified, experienced professionals who are fully focussed on supporting the children in their learning journey.<\/p>\n \u201cIt is satisfying that the happy and upbeat culture we have worked so diligently to establish is a central theme of the Ofsted report.\u201d<\/p>\n Samantha Rhodes, Partou managing director, added: \u201cCongratulations to Bev and the entire team on such a positive report.<\/p>\n “Seizing every fun-packed day is central to the Partou experience.
