{"id":836941,"date":"2026-03-19T20:45:14","date_gmt":"2026-03-19T20:45:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/836941\/"},"modified":"2026-03-19T20:45:14","modified_gmt":"2026-03-19T20:45:14","slug":"bramleys-mill-gallery-welcomes-second-exhibition-of-the-resilient-artist-cohort","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/836941\/","title":{"rendered":"Bramley&#8217;s Mill Gallery welcomes second exhibition of the Resilient Artist Cohort"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An artist-led development programme empowering Leeds-based creatives is to showcase its talent in its second exhibition in Bramley.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aireplacestudios.com\/resilient-artist-cohort\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Resilient Artist Cohort<\/a> is made up of six artists, who engaged in mentoring, collaborative skill-sharing workshops, and gained hands-on experience in shaping and delivering a public exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>Together, they formed a dynamic group of resilient, curious and committed practitioners, each bringing their own unique voice and vision to the cohort.<\/p>\n<p>The preview evening of Bearing will be held at The Mill Gallery in Swinnow Grange Mills on Thursday, 10 April, 6.30pm\u20139pm.<\/p>\n<p>Over 12 months the cohort worked through mentoring, workshops, critique, and sustained practice building. Aire Place Studios (APS) provided structure and a framework for development. <\/p>\n<p>This exhibition is the outcome of that shared process. Every artist moved through research and development, uncertainty, stubbornness, testing, and the slow grind of refining ideas. Bearing brings these paths into one space. The show is co-produced by the cohort and APS. <\/p>\n<p>It proves that artists and an organisation can work together without losing authorship or voice.<\/p>\n<p>Sarah Francis, APS Director, said the organisation was proud to put six artists through a programme that offered each of them support worth \u00a31,250. <\/p>\n<p>She added: \u201cCollaboration asks you to let go of old habits. It pushes you. It exposes where systems fail artists and where artists need to push back. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis cohort made us rethink how we work and how space and practice relate. It was challenging. It was necessary. And we are not finished. We will keep building this model because artists deserve structures that grow with them, not structures that tell them to wait their turn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bearing is the point where the cohort steps forward with certainty. Six artists. Six distinct practices.
