Jadon Sancho<\/a> has suffered a blow after \u2018submitting a transfer request\u2019 to leave both Chelsea<\/a> and Manchester United<\/a> this summer.<\/p>\n

Sancho was hoping to revive his stuttering career at Chelsea \u2013 the club he supported as a child \u2013 after joining the Blues on a season-long loan last summer<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Manchester United spent over \u00a370m to sign Sancho in 2021<\/a> but the winger endured a hugely difficult period at Old Trafford<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The England international struggled to produce his best form at the chaotic Premier League giants and fell out of favour with former manager Erik ten Hag<\/a>, who criticised his performances in training.<\/p>\n

Sancho was motivated to prove United wrong<\/a> when he joined Chelsea at the start of the season but his struggles have continued in west London, where he has scored just three league goals.<\/p>\n

When Chelsea signed Sancho on loan, they agreed to make the move permanent this summer for a fee of between \u00a320-25m.<\/p>\n

However, it was revealed earlier in the year that Chelsea could terminate that agreement if they paid \u00a35m in compensation<\/a> to Manchester United.<\/p>\n

Despite the presence of a get-out clause and some underwhelming performances, Chelsea were still believed to be intending on signing Sancho on a permanent transfer at the end of the season<\/a>.<\/p>\n

But the situation was complicated further by reports claiming Sancho was himself questioning his future at Stamford Bridge.<\/p>\n

A return to Manchester United appears off the table but Sancho reportedly expressed a desire to return to his former club Borussia Dortmund<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It was at Dortmund that Sancho first caught the eye of Europe\u2019s elite after he came through at Manchester City\u2019s academy.<\/p>\n

Sancho enjoyed a second spell at the Bundesliga club last season<\/a>, helping Dortmund reach the Champions League final while on another loan away from United.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately for Sancho, Borussia Dortmund have \u2018ruled out\u2019 signing him for a third time and are not interested in a summer deal, according to Bild<\/a>.<\/p>\n

It is claimed that while Dortmund have no interest in re-signing Sancho, other clubs in Germany would be open to securing his signature if he was willing to take a pay-cut on his hefty wages.<\/p>\n

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has been reluctant to discuss Sancho\u2019s long-term future at the club but Shaun Wright-Phillips believes the Blues should keep him at the club<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u2018It seems like Chelsea buy with potential in mind and what players can possibly be or become,\u2019 the former Chelsea and England winger said.<\/p>\n

\u2018We all know Jadon\u2019s potential. If Chelsea worked the way Chelsea worked, they would normally sign him, because they know what he\u2019s capable of and they\u2019ve seen him do it.<\/p>\n

\u2018But I think what\u2019s not helping at the minute is that he\u2019s not only scoring, but he\u2019s not creating enough.<\/p>\n

\u2018If Chelsea are taking risks on the amount of players they are taking risks on, I don\u2019t think he\u2019s a bad one.<\/p>\n

\u2018We know what he\u2019s already done in a game. If he makes his way back, you\u2019ve got a player on your hands.\u2019<\/p>\n
