\n\tAs he heads to a galaxy far, far away for his Star Wars franchise debut, Ryan Gosling<\/a> has his sights set on the MCU<\/a> next.<\/p>\n

\n\tThe 3x Oscar nominee recently teased that he\u2019s had \u201csome discussions\u201d with Marvel<\/a> Studios about a potential onscreen turn as Ghost Rider<\/a>, after first throwing his hat into the casting ring<\/a> back in 2022.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cWe\u2019ll keep hope alive,\u201d said Gosling on the Happy Sad Confused<\/a> podcast. \u201cSome discussions have been had. It\u2019s a complicated situation.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\tShortly after Gosling announced his interest in the role back in 2022, Marvel boss Kevin Feige said he\u2019d \u201clove to find a place for him in the MCU,\u201d while he was filming Barbie (2023).<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cHey man, if Ryan wants to be Ghost Rider \u2026 Gosling\u2019s unbelievable,\u201d Feige told podcast host Josh Horowitz<\/a>, adding: \u201cRyan is amazing\u2026 I\u2019d love to find a place for him in the MCU. He\u2019s dressed up as Ken on Venice Beach and gets more press than giant movies coming out that weekend. It\u2019s amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

\n\tThe role of the hotheaded, vengeance-seeking biker Johnny Blaze, who made a deal with the devil to save his father\u2019s life, was previously originated onscreen by Nicolas Cage in Ghost Rider (2007), which coincidentally starred Gosling\u2019s partner Eva Mendes as childhood sweetheart Roxanne Simpson.<\/p>\n

\n\tWith Gosling\u2019s upcoming starring role in Star Wars: Starfighter, premiering May 28, 2027 in theaters, the actor is taking on one of his first major film franchises<\/a>, crediting director Shawn Levy for persuading him to sign onto the project.<\/p>\n

\n\t\u201cIt was Shawn\u2019s enthusiasm and his vision and the script,\u201d Gosling said last month. \u201cAnd I just avoided these things because they never felt right. And I\u2019m glad I did because I feel like, [similar to] a book like this, [it was] worth waiting for.
