It reached a concessional verdict at the Licensing Sub-Committee meeting on 17th March. <\/p>\n<p>It followed concerns from two Green Party councillors from the Broomhill and Sharrow Vale ward, who have heard complaints of increased anti-social behaviour, noise pollution and crime in recent months.<\/p>\n<p>Cllr Brian Holmshaw, who recently established an traders association for independent businesses on the road, said at the meeting that council approval \u2018damages the nature of the industry\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" src=\"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/Brian-Holmshaw-new-pic-500x333-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-69209\"  \/>Cllr Brian Holmshaw, who was at Tuesday\u2019s meeting. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cA 4am opening would significantly add to noise, traffic disturbance and litter. Neighbours will have no choice about what they get to see, hear and smell at night.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEcclesall Road is a popular destination for people to go out in the evening.
