DAVE CHERRY\u2019s move to Rugby Club Vannes has been announced by the French club, with the Scotland international hooker having agreed terms on a two-year contract starting this summer.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The 33-year-0ld\u2019s departure from Edinburgh at the end of the season was confirmed by the capital club earlier this [Thursday] morning<\/a>, along with that of scrum-half Ali Price who has been linked to another French club, Montpellier.<\/p>\n

Vannes currently prop up the French Top 14 with their record of six wins and one draw from 20 matches leaving them league points adrift of second-bottom Perpignan, and six league points behind third-bottom Stade Francais.<\/p>\n

The club that finishes bottom of the Top 14 is automatically relegated to\u00a0Pro D2\u00a0and is replaced by the Pro D2 champion. The second-from-bottom team then enters a promotion\/relegation play-off with the Pro D2 runner-up and the winner of this game takes a place in the Top 14 for the next season.<\/p>\n

Cherry has in fact played domestic club rugby in France before having spent the 2017-18 season with Scottish Rugby patnership club Stade Nicois.<\/p>\n
