Dave Jones, chief analyst at energy think tank Ember, insisted that Spain\u2019s fossil-free approach could be replicated elsewhere, whether by building out the North Sea\u2019s wind power capacity or exploiting Central Europe\u2019s geothermal potential.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Rosenow cautioned that S\u00e1nchez is \u201cslightly overstating\u201d Spain\u2019s energy advantages because the country\u2019s remains vulnerable to the ups and downs of global fossil fuel markets.<\/p>\n
\u201cSpanish homes are still predominantly heated with gas and oil, and cars are still mostly running on petrol and diesel,\u201d he said. \u201cThe war in Iran is hitting those sectors too, and consumers are feeling it at the pump and on their heating bills, just like everyone else.\u201d<\/p>\n
