Molly Mae opens up about her latest career swerve as she admits there’s one aspect of her latest venture that has her worrying how she’ll cope in the moment<\/p>\n

Former Love Islander Molly-Mae Hague<\/a> doesn\u2019t believe in doing things by halves. Since coming runner up on Love Island<\/a> with now fiance Tommy Fury<\/a>, she has built up a multi-million pound empire which includes launching her own fashion brand, recently inking a huge deal with Adidas<\/a> and the second season of her own Prime documentary series.<\/p>\n

Recovering from a rocky time last year in which she and boxer Tommy, 26, split<\/a> amid his self-confessed drinking issues – she has bounced back, not only rekindling with Tommy, but announcing last month that the couple are expecting baby number two<\/a> – a little brother or sister for daughter Bambi, two.<\/p>\n

Now, she\u2019s gamely taking on another challenge, as she puts her baking skills to the test for a special Great Celebrity Bake Up for Stand Up To Cancer<\/a>. Here, the jet-setting influencer from Hertfordshire – who admits she\u2019s a \u2018lazy\u2019 cook, but a decent baker – reveals what she might rustle up in the famous tent and what she really thinks of those judges\u2026<\/p>\n

Molly, we\u2019re looking forward to seeing you in action! Can you bake?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I can. In one word, I\u2019d call my baking style\u2026 moderate.<\/p>\n

Do you cook much in everyday life?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No, I\u2019m not much of a cook, but I can bake a decent cake, and if I have ripe bananas on the side, I\u2019m the kind of girl that will whip up a quick banana bread. I love baking things for special occasions, like birthday cakes for friends.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s been your biggest culinary triumphs and disasters?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m very lazy when it comes to everyday cooking, so I feel like I don\u2019t have many disasters because I don\u2019t make much effort to actually cook! My triumphs have been my daughter\u2019s birthday cakes \u2013 they\u2019ve always gone well, and she always loves them. And I can make a really good banana bread, I\u2019m quite known in my family for that.<\/p>\n

You baked an amazing cake for your daughter\u2019s first birthday \u2013 a big smiley house covered in sweets. Is that the style of bake we can expect from you on the show?<\/strong><\/p>\n

That kind of thing! If I could emulate that in the tent, I\u2019ll be very happy. That took me about two days to make, so if I can whip something like that up in a few hours, I will be over the moon! I have this tradition where every year she\u2019s allowed to pick a cake from this cookbook I have. My mum did the same thing for me when I was young. She can pick any cake she wants, even if it\u2019s the most intricate cake you\u2019ve ever seen, and I will give it a good go.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve made a real rod for your own back there!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I know! But mum did it for me, so I\u2019m trying to set the same tradition.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve said before you \u2018live to eat\u2019. Do you have a sweet tooth?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have a really sweet tooth. I feel like my daughter\u2019s inherited that from me. She loves anything chocolatey, sweet, she\u2019s juts obsessed. We\u2019re both like that!<\/p>\n

What are the strengths and weaknesses you\u2019ll bring into the tent?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I think my strength would be my presentation, decoration and eye for detail. I love making things that look gorgeous. It\u2019s part of my job, as a content creator. My weakness would probably be my stress \u2013 I don\u2019t manage my stress that well. If it all goes a bit wrong, I could imagine me having a bit of a stress attack.<\/p>\n

Were you already a fan of Bake Off?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m the biggest fan. I\u2019ve watched the show for years. It\u2019s like my comfort programme. It\u2019s always on in the background in my house, I rewatch the old seasons. I love it so much. it\u2019s my ultimate cosy autumn\/winter programme. I\u2019ve always wanted to be on the show.<\/p>\n

What\u2019s it like walking into the tent for the first time?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Honestly, it\u2019s something I\u2019ve always wanted to tick off the bucket list. And when I\u2019m in there, I\u2019m just trying to soak it all in. I\u2019m never going to get to do this again, I just feel so lucky that I got asked.<\/p>\n

You\u2019ve said you think you might get stressed in there\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

For me, the stress comes from time management \u2013 feeling under pressure because of a time limit. At home when I\u2019m baking or cooking anything, I\u2019m doing it in my own sweet time. I\u2019m not being rushed by anyone. Nobody\u2019s telling me I\u2019ve got 30 minutes left!<\/p>\n

Have you sought advice from anyone ahead of the show?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Because I\u2019ve got pretty good basic knowledge, I didn\u2019t really ask for that much advice. But I also have a lovely lady called Kate who bakes cakes for me for special occasions, and she did come to my house a few times and we went through some practice bakes.<\/p>\n

Is it intimidating when you look up and see Cherish and Paul studying you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Paul, much as he is scary, has a warmth about him. I haven\u2019t felt intimidated by him. Cherish is lovely, but her critiquing is harsher than Paul\u2019<\/a>s, because she\u2019s so used to judging the experts. She expects it to both look and taste good. It\u2019s a bit daunting, but they\u2019re both lovely. I\u2019ve really enjoyed meeting them both. I\u2019d be over the moon to get a Hollywood handshake!<\/p>\n

Are you competitive?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not competitive with anything \u2013 sports, games, I never ever feel competitive. But with this I actually do feel quite competitive, because I\u2019m okay at baking, so I\u2019d really like to be able to show that in the tent. If I could win that would be the icing on the cake, quite literally.<\/p>\n

Why is doing this for SU2C so important to you?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s an honour to help raise money for such an incredible charity. I\u2019m really blessed that my close family hasn\u2019t been affected by cancer, but we all know someone who\u2019s been affected by it. And it\u2019s been an amazing experience, I\u2019ve literally loved every second.<\/p>\n
