{"id":843104,"date":"2026-03-22T16:07:16","date_gmt":"2026-03-22T16:07:16","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/843104\/"},"modified":"2026-03-22T16:07:16","modified_gmt":"2026-03-22T16:07:16","slug":"bramley-ineligible-for-banking-hub-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/843104\/","title":{"rendered":"Bramley &#8216;ineligible&#8217; for banking hub &#8211; report"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><strong>By John Baron<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bramley will not be eligible for a banking hub \u2013 despite the impending closure of its last banking branch.<\/p>\n<p>The Halifax branch in Bramley Shopping Centre is <a href=\"https:\/\/westleedsdispatch.com\/anger-as-halifax-set-to-close-bramley-branch\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">set to close on 12 June<\/a>, with owners Lloys popping tin g to a move to banking online and via mobile phone apps. <\/p>\n<p>Communities including Armley and<a href=\"https:\/\/westleedsdispatch.com\/cash-access-uk-working-to-secure-permanent-new-home-for-horsforth-banking-hub\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\"> Horsforth<\/a> have seen banking hubs being created following gh the closure of final banking branches on the high street. <\/p>\n<p>A banking hub is a shared, high-street space providing essential banking services, usually established in communities where bank branches have closed. Operated by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.postoffice.co.uk\/everydaybanking\/guides\/what-is-banking-hub\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Post Office<\/a>\u00a0and funded by major banks via\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cashaccess.co.uk\/hubs\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">Cash Access UK<\/a>, these hubs allow customers of different banks to withdraw\/deposit cash, pay bills, and speak to community bankers<\/p>\n<p>Cash Access UK, the organisation set up to protect access to cash across the UK, has said that Bramley fails to qualify for a banking hub.<\/p>\n<p>A spokesperson for Cash Access UK told WLD: \u201cWe carry out\u00a0access\u00a0to\u00a0cash\u00a0assessments when a bank branch closes or if people in the local community ask us\u00a0to, and we publish the outcome of our assessment and any recommendations we make for new\u00a0cash\u00a0access\u00a0services.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur assessment in Bramley focused on\u00a0cash\u00a0access\u00a0needs locally.
