{"id":845704,"date":"2026-03-23T21:13:25","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T21:13:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/845704\/"},"modified":"2026-03-23T21:13:25","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T21:13:25","slug":"easter-parade-to-launch-20-million-pride-in-place-programme-in-farnley","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/845704\/","title":{"rendered":"Easter Parade to launch \u00a320 million Pride in Place programme in Farnley"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"has-text-align-right\"><strong>By Jo Gittins<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Families in Farnley are invited to celebrate investment and community spirit \u2013 Sunday 29 March 2026!\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Farnley East is gearing up for community\u2011spirited celebration this\u00a0Sunday, 29 March from 12pm to 5pm\u00a0as an Easter Parade officially launches the exciting new\u00a0Pride in Place\u00a0programme \u2014 a transformational\u00a0\u00a320 million investment\u00a0aimed at shaping positive and lasting change based on the priorities of the community in Farnley East.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Leading the festivities will be none other than the beloved\u00a0Easter Bunny\u00a0who will travel through the area on his colourful trailer, bringing fun, cheer, and plenty of chocolate treats.<\/p>\n<p>The event is being organised by Jo Gittins, Peter Allison, Neil Shackleton, Kathryn Hunter and Ros Amado, part of the local reference group who established to create the Neighbourhood Board \u2013 an independent board created to oversee the funding.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Residents of all ages are invited to join in the celebrations, which will include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The Easter Bunny and friends<\/strong>\u00a0touring on a special parade trailer<\/li>\n<li><strong>Free games and activities<\/strong>\u00a0for children at the start, finish and 5 stops along the way!\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>A free chocolate egg<\/strong>\u00a0for everyone who takes part<\/li>\n<li><strong>Information about the Pride in Place programme<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Opportunities for residents to share their views<\/strong>\u00a0on how the investment is used<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Organisers say the event is all about bringing the community together right from the outset, while promoting Pride in Place and ensuring local voices are heard as plans for the \u00a320 million investment take shape.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a huge moment for Farnley East,\u201d\u00a0Jo Gittins said. \u201cThe Pride in Place programme is about celebrating our community and shaping a brighter future. What better way to start than with a day filled with fun, families, and local pride?\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Parade route and times<\/p>\n<p>The Easter Bunny will begin his journey at\u00a012pm at Farnley Community Centre, making his way through key neighbourhoods before finishing at\u00a05pm on the Tong Estate.<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>12pm \u2013 Farnley Community Centre.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>12.45pm \u2013 Butterbowl area\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>1.30pm \u2013 Stonebridge Grove<\/li>\n<li>2.10pm \u2013 Silverroyd Hill<\/li>\n<li>2.50pm \u2013 Kilburn Road<\/li>\n<li>3.35pm \u2013 Heights Shops<\/li>\n<li>4.25pm \u2013 Tong Way\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Local people, families and businesses\u00a0are encouraged to join in at any point along the route to enjoy games, meet the crew, and collect their free chocolate egg.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst some areas of the parade route don\u2019t currently fall within the current Pride in Place boundary, there is an intention to expand the area to include these estates.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Pride in Place programme aims to strengthen community identity, improve local facilities, and ensure residents feel connected, supported, and proud of their neighbourhood.
