{"id":845742,"date":"2026-03-23T21:40:23","date_gmt":"2026-03-23T21:40:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/845742\/"},"modified":"2026-03-23T21:40:23","modified_gmt":"2026-03-23T21:40:23","slug":"accor-investigating-human-trafficking-allegations","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.europesays.com\/uk\/845742\/","title":{"rendered":"Accor investigating human trafficking allegations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>French hospitality giant Accor has announced the launch of an investigation amid accusations of exploitation and child trafficking by US-based short seller Grizzly Research.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;At this stage, and following the publication of this report, the group is conducting a detailed internal investigation and has hired an external firm to verify the cited facts,&#8221; said Accor in a statement. &#8220;The conclusions of these verifications will be made public.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>According to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/business\/french-hotel-chain-accor-shares-fall-after-grizzly-short-seller-report-2026-03-19\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Reuters<\/a>, Grizzly reported that it sent specific reservation requests &#8220;designed to raise human trafficking red flags&#8221; to nearly 250 Accor hotels, and about 40 complied with these requests. Reuters said it could not independently verify the report&#8217;s allegations.<\/p>\n<p>Accor\u2019s statement, which was issued on Thursday (19 March), said it has prioritised fighting against human trafficking and exploitation of children through employee training, &#8220;stringent policies and processes&#8221;, as well as regular internal audits.
