Kate Middleton has worn five different tiaras throughout her royal life, since marrying into the royal family in 2011.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
By far and away the one she has worn the most often is the Queen Mary Lover\u2019s Knot Tiara, which was also a favorite of Princess Diana\u2019s.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
There is an \u201cemotional reason\u201d connected to not just Diana but also Prince William as to why the Princess of Wales continues to return to the sparkler time and time again.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
Out of the five tiaras Kate Middleton<\/a> has worn throughout her nearly 15 years as a member of the royal family, she has worn one more than any other\u2014the Queen Mary Lover\u2019s Knot Tiara.<\/p>\n Kate Middleton at the Nigerian state banquet on March 18, 2026 For comparison\u2019s sake, the Princess of Wales has worn this tiara 15 times, including at last week\u2019s Nigerian state banquet on March 18. Before Kate made it popular again, William\u2019s mother Princess Diana<\/a> also counted the Queen Mary Lover\u2019s Knot Tiara as her favorite. By wearing Diana\u2019s favorite tiara, she\u2019s not only honoring her late mother-in-law, but also William, her son. Wearing this tiara keeps Diana top of mind, Harrold said.<\/p>\n Kate Middleton at a state banquet on October 23, 2018 \u201cIt\u2019s obviously a favorite of Kate\u2019s, and it\u2019s easy to see why, as it\u2019s an incredible piece of jewelry,\u201d Harrold tells InStyle. \u201cIt suits her perfectly and works well with her hair, as it can be worn with both up and down styles. However, I believe there is a stronger, more emotional reason why we\u2019ve seen her wearing it so often since she joined the royal family. Diana wore it often during her years as a royal, \u201cDespite reportedly finding it uncomfortable, as it\u2019s so heavy,\u201d Harrold says on behalf of Slots Temple<\/a>. \u201cMany of Diana\u2019s most iconic fashion looks feature this tiara, and it\u2019s still something many people associate with her.\u201d<\/p>\n Like Kate\u2019s sapphire and diamond engagement ring\u2014which Diana owned before her\u2014the Queen Mary Lover\u2019s Knot Tiara is made by Garrard, which holds a prestigious Royal Warrant.<\/p>\n Kate Middleton on December 11, 2019 \u201cSo I believe Kate wears this [tiara] to keep her late mother-in-law\u2019s memory alive,\u201d Harrold says. \u201cKate will know how much William misses his mother, so I think she makes a conscious effort to incorporate elements of her during her time as Princess of Wales.
