Exeter Chiefs Women\u2019s head coach Steve Salvin has joined the Wales Women\u2019s coaching team as interim forwards coach for the 2026 Guinness Women\u2019s Six Nations campaign.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Salvin will join a new-look Wales Women\u2019s coaching team, alongside defence coach Tyrone Holmes, interim attack coach Ashley Beck and head coach Sean Lynn.<\/p>\n

The former Rotherham Titans and Leeds Carnegie Academy coach was also performance pathway manager at Worcester Warriors Academy before joining Exeter Chiefs Women in 2021. He was forwards and defence coach up until the end of last season before taking over as head coach for 2025\/26.<\/p>\n

Salvin said: \u201cThe opportunity to work at international level with Wales and in the Women\u2019s Six Nations was too good to turn down.<\/p>\n

\u201cSean is a coach I have coached against in the PWR and all the coaches respect what he built at Gloucester Hartpury and the success he had building a successful high-performance team.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHis teams are always built on a real work ethic, grit and determination and his ability to bring players together and forge an identity has always been key.<\/p>\n

Lynn said: \u201cSteve is a coach I know well and respect from my time in the PWR and his experience of the women\u2019s game with the Chiefs is there to see.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis forward pack has always been resilient, well-organised and a well-drilled outfit, and they make sides work hard throughout a game.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dave Reddin, Welsh Rugby Union director of rugby and elite performance, said: \u201cSteve\u2019s reputation and experience in the women\u2019s game impressed us all during the whole interview process.<\/p>\n
