Rosamund Pike<\/strong> (Gone Girl) and Matthew Rhys<\/strong> (\u201cThe Americans\u201d) race against time in the Hallow Road<\/strong> trailer.<\/p>\n

The psychological thriller will be released in UK theaters on May 16<\/strong> via Universal. US distribution has not yet been set.<\/p>\n

Two parents receive a distressing late-night call from their teenage daughter, who has just accidentally hit a pedestrian. They jump in their car, racing to get there before anyone else stumbles across the scene.<\/p>\n

As they head deeper into the night, disturbing revelations threaten to tear the family apart as they soon realize they might not be the only ones driving down Hallow Road.<\/p>\n

Megan McDonnell<\/strong> (\u201cNormal People\u201d) co-stars in the film, which is directed by\u00a0Babak Anvari<\/strong> (Under the Shadow, I Came By) and written by William Gillies<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Meagan Navarro wrote in her review<\/a> out of SXSW, \u201cThe filmmaker\u2019s minimalist approach serves a dual purpose here, palpably capturing the psychological intensity of its nightmarish scenario and weighty questions while honoring and modernizing the ancient oral traditions tied to its specific brand of horror.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anvari is still attached to helm a new Cloverfield<\/strong> movie<\/a> that\u2019s said to be a direct sequel to the 2008 original.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
